Job Description

The Network Technician II at Scientific Games will operate complex, high-traffic, business-critical internet and network systems. Responsibilities include planning, designing, and implementing scalable network solutions across multiple platforms and protocols (IP and VoIP). This role requires troubleshooting network issues, coordinating installations (routers, switches), developing automation tools, providing training, and assisting with proposal writing. Project planning, cost analysis, vendor comparisons, and working with development teams to enhance system operability are also key. The position involves testing network redundancy and resilience to ensure uptime standards and may require on-call service.
Must have:
  • Lottery operations experience
  • Basic networking configuration and IP Networking
  • Network and hardware support
  • Experience with cabling

Position Summary

*MUST LIVE LOCAL TO BALTIMORE AND SUROUNDING AREA, THIS POSITION IS ONSITE*

*MUST HAVE LOTTERY OPERATIONS EXPERIENCE*

Job Duties / Key Accountabilities

  • Operates company's complex high traffic, business critical internet site communications and/or network-based (cloud) product systems.
  • Plans, designs and implements scalable local and wide-area network solutions between multiple platforms and protocols (including IP and VOIP).
  • Responsible for system performance; supports/troubleshoots network issues and coordinates installation of such items as routers and switches with appropriate vendors.
  • Develops tools to automate the deployment, administration and monitoring of a network system.
  • Provides training and assists with proposal writing.
  • Conducts project planning, cost analysis and vendor comparisons and works on project implementation.
  • Works with development teams to enhance and improve system operability. Conducts tests of network redundancy, resilience and failover of network elements to ensure up-time standards are fully achieved.
  • May be required to provide on-call service coverage with other department employees. Also referred to as Site Reliability Engineer.


 

Required / Skills / Knowledge

  • Experience and understanding of basic networking configuration and IP Networking.
  • Ability to help design network and support hardware setup.
  • Experience with cabling.

Education

Must have a high school diploma or equivalency.
