Sharkmob seeks a Principal UX Designer to lead and define internal UX processes for their new project, Exoborne. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining UX design principles, collaborating with design teams and stakeholders, analyzing industry best practices, and ensuring consistent user experiences across platforms. The role requires strong communication, analytical, and presentation skills, along with experience in translating data and feedback into intuitive designs. Ideal candidates will possess a passion for gaming and UX, a proven track record in game development (preferably live games), and a minimum of 10 years of UX design experience.

As our Principal UX Designer, you will help define our internal user experience processes. You will also work hands on as an expert in our development process and be a link between the creative direction and the different design teams - all while keeping the player's experience top of mind.

You will also collaborate closely with other departments and stakeholders, such as our insights team, to ensure that we work towards a consistent, connected and appreciated user experience, together.

Responsibilities:

  • Stay up-to-date, explore, benchmark and analyse UX best practices in the games industry.
  • Develop and maintain user experience design principles and UX related documentation for our games.
  • Combine insights through data and feedback with design execution to produce intuitive and usable user experiences.
  • Communicate and ensure that best practices, design principles and insights are known and an active part of the design and development to ensure a consistent experience.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to answer design and experience related questions, impacts on user and business metrics, and work as a sounding board for developers and creative directors alike.
  • Ideating, conceptualising and producing ideas that bring consistency, simplicity, and put the user in the center of our game.

As a person, you are open to change and willing to lead the change you want to see! Always eager to learn new things, try new ways of working and share your knowledge with other people. Naturally, you have a true passion for games and UX, keeping yourself updated with the latest trends thanks to your network within the UX community.

Experience:

  • At least 10 years of experience working with UX Design.
  • Relevant bachelor's (Interaction design, human computer interaction, information science, human factors, or related field). An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience from working with accessibility (WCAG, CVAA).
  • Cross-platform experience working with designing for multiple platforms.
  • You have a good understanding of product specifications and user psychology.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • You have experience working with features or products from idea to design, implementation, and balancing.
  • Stakeholder management within a design process and experience in presenting designs, insights and related information to senior / C-suite stakeholders.

That little extra:

  • Experience from working in the games industry, preferably with live games.
  • Experience in Figma.

Sharkmob was founded in 2017 and is headquartered in Malmö, Sweden. We are currently working on Exoborne – a Sharkmob original game. We have previously released Bloodhunt – a battle royale shooter set in the Vampire: The Masquerade universe. We develop games for PC and console, using Unreal 5 to power our vision and ambition.
