Senior DevOps Engineer (with Java or Go Background)

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our team in Amsterdam.  

Our customer is an American global commerce leader based in California, one of the most popular and successful e-commerce websites on the Internet. It provides inspiring services by connecting millions of users in more than 190 markets around the world. 

The Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for supporting an innovative cloud-based livestreaming project that shapes the future of global e-commerce. Our goal is to ensure scalable, secure, and highly available systems, enabling personalized online shopping experiences, interactive customer engagement, and automated processes to enhance buying satisfaction.

Primary responsibilities:

• Ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability of production systems.
• Serve as primary POC for LiveOps/GCX to address service incidents and troubleshoot/triage as appropriate.
• Work with the core engineering team to address bugs and deploy services across different environments.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to scale for service capacity and traffic spikes of 20x normal load during T1 events.
• Provide recommendations for architecture and process improvements.

Secondary responsibilities:

• Create and maintain service health dashboards to monitor production systems.
• Implement alarms where there are gaps in service health monitoring

Requirements:

• Experience with modern programming languages, e.g. Java, Go, C++
• Experience in building large, reliable, scalable distributed systems
• Experience with building event-driven applications
• Experience with designing and building RESTful APIs
• Experience with modern DevOps principles and continuous delivery
• Work closely w/ colleagues and customers in different functional groups and remote office
• Hands on experience with GraphQL is a big plus
• Experience on web socket is a big plus
