Purpose & Need
Successful landscape architects are masters of creating sustainable and functional spaces that enhance beauty and safety. By integrating vegetation and hardscape materials, landscape architects can transform our transportation networks into aesthetically pleasing and purposeful corridors that promote connectivity. This Senior Landscape Architect will not only represent PGA directly to clients as a reliable subject matter expert and project manager but will also foster and maintain long-term client relationships that will support PGA’s strategic growth goals. The ideal candidate should be motivated to pursue and lead exciting projects, energized to mentor developing staff, and ready to further advance their career with a firm eager to see them succeed.
What You’ll Do
Lead marketing, business development initiatives, and project pursuits
Assist in the strategy planning and growth of the PGA Landscape Architecture practice
Provide site planning, landscape and hardscape design, and irrigation design for public and
private sector projects, from concept through detailing and implementation. Project types
may include transportation corridors and facilities; streetscapes and public spaces; parks
and recreation; and residential/commercial developments
Project/Task management on a variety of projects including management of assigned
personnel.
Provide landscape architecture support, technical expertise, and guidance to PGA’s multi-disciplinary engineering practice and staff
Provide quality control efforts for the Landscape Architecture Group
Complete tasks and projects within established supervisor’s expectations
What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in landscape architecture or related field from an accredited
program
10+ years of direct landscape architecture experience with progressively more complex
responsibilities
Professional licensure
International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) certification (preferred)
Irrigation Association Certified Irrigation Designer (CID) – Landscape certification (preferred)

Thorough knowledge of green initiatives programs and low impact design
Ability to prepare graphics/exhibits, renderings (freehand or computer), and construction
documents including details and specifications
Proficient in AutoCAD/Civil3D, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite. Working
knowledge of 3D rendering software and visualization applications (Sketchup, Lumion, etc.),
ArcGIS, and MicroStation/ORD preferred
