Patel, Greene and Associates (PGA) is seeking a Professional Engineer (PE) to join and expand their Context-Based Design team across multiple Florida offices. This role involves managing planning projects, leading technical efforts, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to marketing and client presentations. You will apply expertise in multimodal planning, data analysis, and conceptual roadway design for transportation projects impacting community safety and mobility. Responsibilities include taking ownership of planning and conceptual design tasks, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, supporting business development, and serving as a technical resource with minimal supervision. Must have:
  • Serve as Project Manager, Lead Technical Professional, or Engineer of Record
  • Lead designers, planners, and technicians, providing peer reviews
  • Lead technical writing for reports and proposals
  • Lead marketing efforts for projects
  • Assist Managers with project administrative duties
  • Complete tasks and projects within expectations
  • Participate in relevant training and conferences
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
  • 0-10 years of post-registration conceptual design and planning experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from ABET Accredited University
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of multimodal transportation planning, land use planning, and conceptual design
  • Knowledge of multimodal traffic data, safety, forecasting, and analysis principles
  • Skills to lead teams, build relationships, serve clients, and pursue projects
  • Skills to develop understandable and accurate conceptual design graphics
  • Skills to interpret and summarize design plans, recommendations, and official documents
  • Skills to properly analyze data and make appropriate recommendations
  • Ability to work across disciplines to develop implementable multimodal transportation plans
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, assign work, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on deadline-driven activities

Purpose & Need

Patel, Greene and Associates (PGA) is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Professional Engineer (PE) to support and grow the Context-Based Design team. This position is available in our Temple Terrace, Carrollwood, Orlando, Bartow, or Sarasota offices. This role involves managing planning projects, leading technical efforts on complex tasks, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to marketing and client presentations. You'll apply your expertise in multimodal planning, data analysis, and conceptual roadway design across a range of transportation projects that directly impact safety and mobility in our communities. You’ll take ownership of planning and conceptual design tasks, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, support business development, and serve as a technical resource with minimal supervision. What You’ll Do

  • Serve in the roles of Project Manager (PM), Lead Technical Professional (LTP), and sometimes Engineer of Record (EOR) on a variety of multimodal transportation planning and conceptual design projects
  • Lead designers, planners, and technicians in completing tasks, providing frequent peer reviews on their work
  • Lead technical writing and development of reports and proposals
  • Lead marketing efforts for less complex projects and assist with marketing efforts on larger, more complex projects
  • Assist Managers in a variety of project administrative duties
  • Complete tasks and projects within established supervisor’s expectations
  • Participate in relevant training sessions and conferences to stay current with industry developments

What You’ll Need

  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
  • 0-10 years of progressively more complex post registration conceptual design and planning experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from an ABET Accredited University, majoring in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • Knowledge of multimodal transportation planning, land use planning, and conceptual design for pedestrians, bicyclists, trail users and transit riders
  • Knowledge of multimodal traffic data, safety, forecasting, and analysis principles
  • Skills to lead teams, build relationships, serve clients, and pursue projects
  • Skills to develop easily understandable and technically accurate conceptual design graphics
  • Skills to interpret and summarize design plans, planning recommendations, and official documents
  • Skills to properly analyze data and make appropriate recommendations
  • Ability to work across disciplines (planning, roadway, traffic, structures, drainage, landscape, etc.) to identify and develop implementable multimodal transportation plans and conceptual designs
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, assign work, and meet deadlines with high quality deliverables
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on deadline-driven activities
  • Ability to use Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and other Office Products
