Keywords Studios seeks talented Senior/Lead VFX Artists to join their expanding creative studios in 2025. Responsibilities include collaborating with art directors and clients to establish artistic vision, managing and mentoring VFX teams (for Lead roles), contributing to high-quality VFX work, advocating for VFX's role in enhancing gameplay, and partnering with technical teams to develop pipelines. Senior Artists will act as key contributors and mentors, while Leads will manage and mentor teams. The ideal candidate possesses extensive AAA experience (5+ years), a strong portfolio showcasing high-quality VFX, excellent communication skills, proficiency in VFX tools (Houdini, Substance Designer, Unreal Engine), and a passion for creating cutting-edge visuals.

In 2025, we’re excited to expand our creative studios worldwide! We’re looking to bring on board talented game VFX artists to join our teams and bring their unique touch to renowned game titles.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with the art director, studio leads, and clients to establish and uphold the artistic vision and style guide for VFX work.
  • For Lead VFX Artists: Manage and mentor a team of VFX artists, fostering their growth through inspiring direction and constructive feedback that aligns with the project’s artistic vision.
  • For Senior VFX Artists: Serve as a key contributor, providing expertise to elevate the quality of VFX work and mentoring junior team members where appropriate.
  • Advocate for the role of VFX in enhancing the game experience, consistently identifying opportunities to push the boundaries of visual storytelling.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of VFX principles, a keen sense of timing, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Showcase a passion for crafting cutting-edge VFX, including set-piece events, ambient effects, and gameplay-driven visuals that define the unique identity of each project.
  • Actively contribute to building a collaborative and innovative art culture, helping to onboard new team members and championing the studio’s core values.
  • Partner closely with technical teams to develop efficient, stable, and state-of-the-art VFX pipelines, contributing to the advancement of new tools and technologies.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience (at least 5 years) contributing to AAA projects, showcasing high-quality VFX work and technical expertise.
  • A stellar portfolio that inspires and highlights your exceptional skills, creativity, and artistic talent.
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, enabling effective collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Experience partnering with recruitment and studio leadership teams to identify and support the hiring of top-tier talent.
  • Proficient in VFX tools such as Houdini and Substance Designer, with extensive experience using Unreal Engine or proprietary game engines.
  • Ability to guide VFX work to enhance gameplay and elevate key aspects of the player experience.
  • Skilled in pre-visualizing and prototyping innovative VFX techniques to consistently raise the quality bar.
  • Drive the development and optimization of VFX, rendering, and material pipelines, maintaining a strong focus on performance and efficiency
  • Be a resident of the UK or open to relocation (relocation package can be provided and supported by us for Leads).
