The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, operating, maintaining, and monitoring large enterprise networks, preferably in federal government environments, and in following Agile processes using the SAFe framework. Key responsibilities include collaborating with network administrators and project managers, implementing and diagnosing network issues, developing networks, analyzing user needs, maintaining network security, providing user support, acting as a technical expert, designing new networks for operational efficiency, troubleshooting network issues, and maintaining comprehensive documentation. This is a hybrid position requiring onsite support in Clarksburg, WV, and requires an active Top Secret clearance.
Must have:
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise
  • 5+ years of experience with network operating systems (Cisco, JUNOS, iOS)
  • Knowledge of networking hardware (CPUs, wiring, routers)
  • Familiarity with communication and routing protocols
  • Experience with network analysis tools (Riverbed, Cisco Catalyst Center, Splunk)
  • Proficiency with coding languages (Linux, Ansible)
Good to have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or information technology

AnaVation is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer join an exciting work program. The successful candidate will have experience with designing, implementing, operating, maintaining, and monitoring large enterprise networks, preferably in federal government environments, and in following Agile processes using the SAFe framework. Key responsibilities include: · Collaborate with network administrators, project managers and other network engineers to perform their job duties. · Implementing, diagnosing, and repairing network issues. · Developing networks and coordinating with team members to identify network needs. · Analyze user needs and develop solutions. · Aid employees and other individuals on how to maintain the network effectively. · Establishing, developing, and maintaining computer networks between organizations utilizing existing infrastructure. · Maintain network security ensuring that network data remains secure. · Providing support to all users, including team members and law enforcement partners, and fixing any issues that occur. · Function as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. · Designing new networks with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. · Maintaining computer infrastructure, network hardware and other related IT systems. · Troubleshooting potential network issues. · Collaborate with Senior level employees and leadership on issues that require guidance. · Replacing faulty network hardware components when necessary. · Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, changes, and operational procedures. This position is hybrid, with onsite support as needed at our customer location in Clarksburg, WV. Candidates must be able to provide onsite support whenever requested, and are required to live within commuting distance to Clarksburg, WV. AnaVation is not able to provide travel reimbursement when onsite support is required. Hybrid status is expected to continue, but is subject to change according to the direction of the customer. This position requires an active Top Secret clearance and, if requested by the customer, the ability to successfully pass a polygraph and obtain SCI accesses. Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s in computer science, engineering, information systems, or information technology. In lieu of degree, minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience required.
  • Experience: 6 years
  • Required:
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or information technology preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience working with advanced knowledge of network operating systems including Cisco, Junos Operating System (JUNOS), and Internetwork Operating System (iOS).
  • Knowledge of networking hardware including CPUs, wiring, and routers.
  • Familiarity with communication and routing protocols.
  • Familiarity with network analysis tools including Riverbed, Cisco Catalyst Center, and Splunk.
  • Proficiency with coding languages including Linux and Ansible.
  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills.
  • High level problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, XP, Kanban, and SAFe.
