Job Overview
We are looking for a dedicated SFTP L2 Engineer with 1-3 years of experience in network security, and a strong focus on managing Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) solutions. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth expertise in configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting SFTP setups, especially within Windows, Linux, and Unix environments. This role requires strong technical knowledge of network and security protocols, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.
Key Responsibilities
- SFTP Management:
- Manage, configure, and implement SFTP solutions.
- Integrate SFTP solutions with various tools for management, authentication, and authorization (email, AD, IAM, SIEM).
- Commission and implement SFTP solutions across environments such as DC/DR/Cloud and branch offices.
- Troubleshoot incidents across all layers of the OSI model (Layers 1, 2, 3) related to SFTP.
- Automation & Integration:
- Automate processes using scripting and configuration (SOAR) tools.
- Integrate SFTP solutions with REST API/SDK for seamless operation with security dashboards and Infosec tools (AD, IDAM, PAM, SIEM, SOAR).
- Incident & Problem Management:
- Handle incident, problem, service request, change, configuration, and capacity management for SFTP systems.
- Troubleshoot network issues using packet capture and analysis tools such as Wireshark/Pcap.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on SFTP incidents and ensure resolution within SLAs.
- Work closely with the helpdesk, IT support, and application teams for joint troubleshooting of high-priority issues.
- Proactively monitor and respond to network events using monitoring tools.
- Compliance & Security:
- Maintain and implement network security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with audit and security requirements, including patch updates and upgrades.
- Conduct daily performance checks, periodic audits, and maintain security infrastructure across a 24/7 setup.
- Close compliance and audit points within agreed timelines.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Create technical documentation including as-built network diagrams, security documentation, and inventory control records.
- Prepare SOPs/Runbooks and update knowledgebases in ITSM tools.
- Provide regular SLA reporting for SFTP systems and ensure timely closure of tickets within SLAs.
- Collaboration & Mentorship:
- Coordinate with OEMs for TAC support, RMA, replacement, and reconfiguration of SFTP solutions.
- Lead and mentor L1 & L2 engineers, ensuring high-level technical guidance and support.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates and resolutions to complex issues.
Required Candidate Profile
Experience:
- 1 to 3 years of network security experience, with a minimum of 3 years dedicated to SFTP solutions.
- Hands-on experience working in Windows, Linux, and Unix environments.
- Proficiency with SFTP management and deployment.
- Strong knowledge of network security protocols and tools (e.g., Wireshark, Pcap).
Technical Skills:
- Experience in automating processes using scripting languages and SOAR tools.
- Knowledge of authentication tools (Active Directory, IAM, SIEM).
- Ability to manage policies, conduct packet capture analysis, and troubleshoot security incidents.
- Familiarity with integrating SFTP systems with security and automation tools such as AD, IDAM, PAM, and SIEM.
Communication & Leadership:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated success in managing and resolving complex technical issues.
- Ability to lead a team of engineers and take ownership of technology.
