EA's Frostbite engine powers many popular games. This Software Engineer role focuses on enhancing the engine's architecture, improving developer tools, and optimizing workflows. Responsibilities include developing tools to boost productivity and efficiency, contributing directly to future EA games, collaborating with teams on quality and performance, and staying current with industry trends. The ideal candidate has experience in C++ and C#, game development, and software development best practices, along with a passion for improving software development processes. Experience with Git, Perforce, Visual Studio, and CI/CD is beneficial.

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Frostbite Architecture Team. As a member of this team, you will develop tools that enhance the productivity and efficiency of our software engineers.

Responsibilities

  • You will be part of the team evolving the architecture of the Frostbite engine.

  • You will contribute directly to improving features and workflows for future EA games.

  • You will create tools enabling the entire Frostbite ecosystem.

  • You will collaborate with teams to achieve quality and performance goals.

  • You will stay updated with industry trends and new technologies.

Requirements

  • You have worked in a Software Engineering role.

  • You have experience in C++ and C# development.

  • You have worked on a game or other application.

  • You have experience in software development best practices.

  • You have a desire to push the boundaries of technology.

  • Your motivation comes from enhancing productivity and efficiency in software development

  • Experience with tools such as Git, Perforce, VisualStudio and CI/CD platforms are a benefit.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).

BASE SALARY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria)

    • $96,400 - $133,900 CAD

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
