Job Description

Zscaler seeks an experienced Software Development Engineer to work remotely. Responsibilities include developing and managing shared infrastructure automation for US federal, regulated, and sovereign cloud environments; improving CI/CD system security and automating change management; defining and enforcing DevOps standards; automating the build-out of new Zscaler clouds; and participating in on-call rotation. The ideal candidate possesses 5+ years of commercial services development and public cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure), expertise in large-scale distributed systems, and proficiency in Infrastructure as Code and languages like Go or Java.
Must have:

We're looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer to join our Engineering team and work in a remote capacity. In this role, you will be reporting to the Director, Site Reliability Engineering who is Netherlands based, and have the following responsibilities:

  • Developing and managing shared infrastructure automation for US federal, regulated, and sovereign cloud environments.
  • Improving security of CI/CD systems and automating change management processes.
  • Defining and enforcing DevOps standards, best practices, and procedures across the engineering team.
  • Automating the build-out of new Zscaler clouds and creating delivery mechanisms for operational collateral.
  • Participating in on-call rotation to support a highly available engineering platform

What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, IT, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of commercial services development experience.
  • 5+ years of public cloud experience (AWS or GCP or Azure).
  • Expertise in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code as well as experience programming languages like Go, Java.

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience in continuous monitoring, vulnerability scanning, patching, and reporting.
  • Experience with multiple cloud providers (AWS, Azure) and both relational and non-relational databases for microservices.
