Summary of Role :

The Cloud Engineer will design, provision and manage AWS resources for test and production workloads at Cadmium. The Cloud Engineer will work with cloud and system architects to design reliable, scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions, processes and standards.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Provision, monitor and maintain production and test environments at AWS
• Troubleshoot and resolve alerts, failures, and cloud operations issues
• Provide hands-on support to CloudOps and DevOps teams to ensure project milestones and goals are met
• Code, debug and maintain infrastructure as code
• Design and provision systems for logging and alerting across the enterprise using open source and commercial tools and products
• Adhere to company-approved tools, processes and best practices
• Code review of IaC and other merge requests from team members
• Work with management team to analyze AWS spend and optimize costs
• Design and implement backup strategies and participate in disaster recovery exercises
• Ensure processes adhere to compliance standards

Skills and Requirements

• Strong knowledge of CDK and CloudFormation.
• Strong knowledge of GitLab including pipelines security tooling.
• Strong knowledge of Linux
• Strong knowledge with AWS EFS, ECS, Fargate, S3, RDS, CloudTrail and other AWS tools
• Experience with containers and container orchestration tools such as AWS ECS
• Experience developing, managing, and deploying Docker images
• Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python or others
• Strong knowledge of security principles as they relate to AWS and the SDLC pipeline
