Job Description

The Strategic Agency Program Lead at Google Customer Solutions (GCS) in Iberia is a sales leadership role focused on deepening executive engagement with agencies in Spain and Portugal. This executive will lead and coach a high-performing team to manage client relationships, exceed business targets, and achieve OKRs. Responsibilities include recruiting, developing, and motivating a team of Strategic Agency Managers; delivering against ambitious growth targets; modeling and coaching sales behaviors; strengthening executive-level agency relationships; defining the future of agency management; and initiating strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in media agencies, marketing, advertising, or sales, including 3+ years leading teams. Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, and English is essential.
Must have:
  • 10+ years experience in media, marketing, or sales
  • 3+ years team leadership experience
  • Fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and English
  • C-level executive engagement experience
  • Strong sales leadership and coaching skills
  • Strategic planning and execution capabilities

Job Details

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in media agency, marketing, advertising or sales industry.
  • 3 years of experience leading a team and managing people.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish, Portuguese and English fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of traditional and online marketing strategy and tactics.
  • Ability to model and coach sales behaviors, take initiative and help teams understand performance data, identify opportunities, land and scale success.
  • Ability to own sales team operations across Spain and Portugal: portfolio management, team building, KPI measurement, and execution.
  • Ability to lift, support, inspire and grow your team and customers.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, investigative and communication skills.

The Google Customer Solutions (GCS) Agency Sales team drives customer success by partnering with media holding companies, large independent agencies and their customers in Spain and Portugal.

Head of Strategic Agency Program role is a executive sales leadership opportunity in Google Customer Solutions where you will be a sales leader that owns the strategic goal and planning of an agency sales teams, with special emphasis on deepening agency executive engagement.

You are a sales leader and you will lead and coach a high-performing team of sellers and sales managers to help them manage client relationships and lead the business engagement with agencies in the market. You will enable your team to overachieve ambitious business and product growth targets and OKRs. You will own the strategy, forecasting, planning and execution of team-wide account growth and also contribute to the overall strategic direction of the Agency team. You and your team will work with a wide variety of top GCS agencies to deliver the optimal advertising solution for every partner and their clients. You will also work with the sales leadership team to set strategic objectives and run the day-to-day operations for the business.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, retain, motivate and develop a team of client-facing and high-performing Strategic Agency Managers to ensure improved Same-store growth, high agency satisfaction and enhanced portfolio health.
  • Deliver against ambitious business and product adoption targets, grow engagement and client satisfaction for agencies managed by your team. 
  • Model and coach Strategic Agency Managers and sales behaviors: including C-level engagement, effective questioning, objection handling, and selling.
  • Lead and strengthen executive-level agency relationships through key C-level meetings, business reviews and speaking engagements.
  • Define the future of agency management and help to develop the necessary infrastructure and processes. Initiate and run strategic initiatives to further develop new and existing GCS agency businesses.
