Job Description

Google's Partnerships Development team seeks a Strategic Partner Manager, Devices and Services based in Tokyo, Japan. This role requires 10+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or related fields within consumer electronics, automotive, or tech industries. Responsibilities include building and executing growth strategies for partnerships, evaluating opportunities, structuring proposals, building relationships with internal stakeholders (product, marketing, finance, legal), negotiating agreements with partners, and ensuring consensus among executives. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, influencing, and financial acumen skills. The role involves working directly with C-level executives and collaborating across various departments to leverage Google's product offerings like YouTube, Google TV, and Commerce.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or other advanced degree.
  • Experience working autonomously in a dynamic, ever-changing, and collaborative environment.
  • Experience managing partnerships.
  • Ability to identify business opportunities, assess financial/business benefit, structure agreements, and discuss terms with partners.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.

Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line of interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

Responsibilities

  • Build, execute and refine a growth strategy for the partnership business in unison with partners and other Google divisions and functions.
  • Evaluate, prioritize and motivate opportunities from a financial, and operational perspective.
  • Structure proposals including partners benefits, goals, requirements, incentive structure, legal and operational implications.
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders, including the country leadership team and other functions, such as product team, marketing, finance, legal and compliance, operations and go-to-market.
  • Motivate business agreements with potential partners and renewal or expansions for existing partners and build consensus with internal and external executives.
