Job Description

The Technical Solutions Developer role at Google Cloud involves providing 24x7 support to customers transitioning to Google Cloud. Responsibilities include resolving production Kubernetes/Anthos deployment issues, ensuring product readiness, availability, and scalability. This includes troubleshooting, root cause analysis, tool development, and acting as a consultant for internal stakeholders. The role requires in-depth understanding of Google Cloud's Kubernetes/Anthos technology and underlying architectures. Collaboration with product and software development teams to improve the product is also a key aspect. Working in a shift pattern, including weekends, is required.

Must have:

4+ years customer-facing experience
Linux/Unix or Windows system troubleshooting
Containerized system performance analysis (Kubernetes/Anthos)
Coding experience (Java, C, C++, Python, etc.)
Experience with Web Tech, Data/Big Data, Systems Admin, Machine Learning, Networking, Kubernetes, Oracle, or SAP

Good to have:

Experience debugging large-scale environments
Computer Networking expertise (TCP/IP, Routing, Load Balancing)
Public cloud experience (GCP)
Understanding of web technologies (HTTP, HTML, DNS, TCP)

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
4 years of experience in customer-facing roles, troubleshooting with Linux/Unix or Windows systems, from the kernel to the shell, file systems, and client-server protocols and performance analysis of containerized systems (e.g., Kubernetes/Anthos).
4 years of experience reading code in a general purpose coding language (e.g., Java, C, C++, Python, Shell, Go or JavaScript, etc.) or in system design.
4 years of experience with two or more of the following: Web Tech, Data/Big Data, Systems Admin, Machine Learning, Networking, Kubernetes, Oracle, SAP.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience debugging workload issues across large-scale, multi-node environments.
Experience in Computer Networking (e.g., TCP/IP, Routing, Load Balancing, etc.).
Experience working with any public cloud (e.g., GCP, etc.) service and infrastructure.
Understanding of basic web technologies (e.g., HTTP, HTML, DNS, TCP, etc.).

Our Technical Solutions Specialists own important customer issues in addition to providing support to our other support teams.

In this role, you will be a part of a global team that provides 24x7 support to help customers seamlessly make the switch to Google Cloud. When customers cannot resolve issues themselves, you will ensure that we have the necessary tools and processes to swiftly resolve the issue. You will troubleshoot technical problems for customers with a mix of debugging, networking, system administration, updating documentation, and when needed, coding/scripting. Our Technical Solutions team is focused on customer needs and you will help drive the success of Google Cloud by understanding and advocating for our customers’ issues. You will be required to work in a Shift Pattern or non-standard work hours as required. This may include weekend work.

Responsibilities

Work with customers on their production Kubernetes/Anthos deployments to resolve issues and achieve product readiness, availability, and scalability.
Develop an in-depth understanding of Google Cloud's Kubernetes/Anthos product technology and underlying architectures by troubleshooting, reproducing, and determining the root cause for customer-reported issues, building tools, and faster diagnosis.
Act as consultant and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders in software development, sales, and customer organizations to resolve technical deployment obstacles and improve Google Cloud.
Work as part of a team of specialists/consultants that globally ensure 24-hour customer support. This will include a need to sometimes work non-standard work hours/shifts, and may include weekend work.
Understand customer issues, advocate for their needs with internal teams, including Product and Software Development teams, to find ways to improve the product, and drive production.
