Job Description
The Trainee Database Engineer will assist with database installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, backup, security, and troubleshooting. Responsibilities include working with cloud portals (public cloud hyperscale), utilizing automation tools and scripting (Python/PowerShell/Ansible/Shell Scripts/TSQL/PLSQL), and cloud-native tools like Terraform and Git/GitHub. The role involves monitoring database performance, addressing bottlenecks, and participating in database recovery processes. The candidate will assist in implementing and maintaining database security and will maintain accurate documentation. Collaboration with developers and other stakeholders is crucial. A basic understanding of relational databases, SQL, and cloud platforms is essential.

Perform database engineering and administration activities such as installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, backup, security, troubleshooting, documentation, collaboration, and continuous learning. Emphasizes the importance of staying current on databases and industry trends.
Key Responsibilities
Database Management: Assisting with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of databases.
Cloud Portals: Usages of public cloud hyperscale portal for database operations
Basic usages of automation tools and scripting (Python/PowerShell/Ansible/Shell Scripts/TSQL/PLSQL) and cloud native tools like terraforms, Git/GitHub.
Monitoring: Monitoring database performance, finding and addressing bottlenecks.
Backup and Recovery: Assisting in implementing and testing regular backups of databases, as well as participating in database recovery processes in the event of failures or disasters.
Security Management: Assisting in implementing and maintaining database security, including managing user access, permissions, and roles to ensure data confidentiality and integrity.
Documentation: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure effective knowledge transfer and compliance with organizational standards.
Collaboration: Collaborating with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to support database-related initiatives and projects.
Knowledge
the knowledge required may encompass a combination of academic learning, certifications, and practical skills. Here are some essential areas of knowledge for a DBA fresher
Understanding of Relational Databases: A strong grasp of relational database concepts, normalization, ACID properties and the principles of data organization and storage.
SQL Fundamentals: Knowledge in writing and understanding SQL queries, data manipulation (DML) and data definition (DDL) statements, as well as a basic understanding of joins, Indexes and procedures
Knowledge of public cloud platforms and databases available on Public Cloud.
Knowledge of Cloud Databases on PAAS and IAAS platforms.
Understanding of different databases flavors like relations and non-relational like document DB/Graph databases/Key-value pair database
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a directly related field
