Guru Studio is seeking a Lighting Artist for "Mecha Builder Minis Season 2". The role involves using existing light rigs to produce a set volume of shots weekly, potentially lighting sets from scratch with efficient setups, and collaborating with technical staff to resolve rendering/lighting issues. The artist will also communicate directly with the Lighting Supervisor. Guru Studio is an entertainment company with a focus on animated storytelling, known for beloved children's properties. Must have:
  • 1-2 years as Lighting Artist in animation/film
  • 1-2 years experience in Unreal Engine
  • Proficient in shot-based lighting
  • Strong portfolio showcasing artistic skills
  • Ability to generate well-lit images

Help us bring this show to life as our new Lighting Artist.


Responsibilities:

  • Use existing light rigs to generate a set volume of shots per week
  • May need to light sets from scratch using clean and efficient light setups
  • Occasionally work with the technical staff to solve rendering / lighting scene issues
  • Communicate directly with the Lighting Supervisor


Qualifications:

  • 1-2 yrs as an experienced Lighting Artist in animated television and/or film
  • 1-2 yrs of experience working within Unreal
  • Proficient in shot based lighting
  • Knowledge of shaders, post-process volumes, and lighting related cvars is a plus
  • A solid portfolio highlighting composition and artistic skills
  • A strong portfolio that shows the ability to generate well lit and balanced images
