Purpose:
We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Account Manager to join our growing team.  In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with leather technology companies across Southeast Asia (SEA) to promote and sell our innovative line of leather chemicals.
Education :
  • Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Technologies  
Mandate Experience :
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Chemistry, or a related field (preferred). 
  • Minimum 8 - 10 years of experience in sales, ideally within the chemical or leather technology industry. 
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and building strong customer relationships. 
  • Technical Expertise required in Conducting Application Trial, developing articles, problem solving in leather making. 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Working with Sales Manager and distributor personnel in forecasting and developing annual sales quota within the geographical territory 
  • Managing either a single customer site or multiple customer accounts (depending on the size of business at each account).  
  • Projecting expected sales volume and profits from Key Accounts 
  • Providing the relevant reports for marketing planning 
  • Actively investigating in the market to accurately project current and future potential / opportunities 
  • Keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, competitors' pricing / products / new products, marketing techniques, within his customer base and territory and update Area / Regional Managers accordingly 
  • Developing specific, written action plan for every customer taking into account Key Accounts and guided by "The Buckman Way" in close cooperation and coordination with Area / Regional Manager 
  • Identifying, establishing and developing new accounts and business opportunities from existing and prospective accounts 
  • Continuing to service and expand our sales positions in all key accounts 
  • Applying effective time and territory management techniques based on customer requirement and potential to achieve the objectives. 
  • Following action plans to close sales, increase sales and achieve Business Plan results 
  • Increasing profitability through effective value-based pricing; optimizing product mix; managing of resources, expenses and logistics systems 
  • Effective management of customers, agents and distributors 
  • Service existing accounts, establish new accounts, establish and maintain relationships with Key Accounts 
  • Effective management of customers, agents and distributors 
  • Implementation of Account Management Programs 
 
Required skills
  • Good understanding of Leather industry 
  • Good understanding of and familiarity of our business and organization 
  • Good understanding of business / financial concepts and terminologies. 
  • Product and Technical Knowledge 
  • Good commercial and negotiating skills 
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal), interpersonal and presentation skills 
  • Culturally sensitive; able to deal with customers from a wide cultural and national background at all level 
  • Ability to instil confidence when dealing with customers and projecting a professional image 
  • Computer proficiency with sound knowledge in Microsoft Office such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint 
  • Able to travel extensively
