Job Description

As a Business Development Executive, you will be involved in direct engagement with prospective leads, convert app downloaders into members, guide potential members through signup, and highlight/upsell Tide services. You will also work with the KYC team, contact existing members, and source your own leads. The role requires coaching leads, providing 5-star service, and supporting partners with onboarding. The team is front-line and is responsible for converting leads into Tide members. The team efforts are instrumental in expanding Tide's member base, ensuring that new members fully utilize and benefit from Tide’s comprehensive range of products.
Must have:
  • Previous experience in fintech or sales.
  • Experience in face-to-face sales or telesales.
  • Entrepreneurial and self-starter mentality.
  • Excellent objection handling skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience with CRM systems like Zendesk.
Good to have:
  • Passion for supporting small businesses and interest in fintech products.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Business Development team are a front-line team, looking to convert as many prospective/cold leads into Tide Members as possible. Their efforts are instrumental in expanding Tide's member base, ensuring that new members fully utilise and benefit from Tide’s comprehensive range of products. Through targeted outreach, strategic follow-ups, and personalised engagement, the Business Development team strives to turn every lead into a satisfied and loyal Tide Member.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Business Development Executive, you will:

  • Be involved in direct engagement with prospective leads face-to-face, either door-to-door or at events
  • Approach prospects that have downloaded the Tide app but haven’t completed sign-up, and convert them into full-fledged members
  • Guide potential members through the signup process, answer their questions, and reassure them that Tide is the best solution for their needs
  • Highlight and upsell other Tide services and products that could be beneficial to them
  • Work closely with the KYC team to ensure members provide the correct documentation and troubleshoot any issues along the way
  • Contact existing members to build rapport, understand their businesses, and upsell relevant Tide products and services to help them thrive
  • Use your sales and commercial awareness to source your own leads and convert them into active members
  • Spend time coaching leads through the setup process, providing 5-star service as you welcome them to Tide
  • Support our partners by onboarding new members from their locations, which can include multiple sites
  • Be entirely comfortable with cold calling, emailing, and outreach, and won’t need extensive coaching on this

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a Business Development Executive to join our team. We are looking for an individual with the following qualifications, experience, personality traits, and skills:

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced fintech or sales environment
  • Previous experience in face-to-face sales or telesales, with a proven ability to meet or exceed targets
  • Entrepreneurial and self-starter mentality
  • Excellent objection handling skills and the ability to thrive in a target-oriented environment
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English
  • Experience with CRM systems like Zendesk or similar tools
  • A passion for supporting small businesses and an interest in fintech products
  • An ability to manage changing priorities and perform in a fast-paced environment
  • A positive, can-do attitude with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
