Our Approach

At GSG, we take a pragmatic, hands-on approach to our work. We prioritize teamwork, flexibility, and proactivity. Collaboration is central to everything we do. We believe the best results come from sharing ideas and refining them based on further feedback.

What This Means for You

We value clear communication, adaptability, and a proactive approach. This means being comfortable trying different solutions, sharing opinions, receiving and incorporating feedback, being open to different perspectives, and taking responsibility for your own tasks.

As our new crew member, you'll be part of the Publishing and Marketing Team and will work closely with all its current members. The team consists of three people — each with their own area of responsibility — and is led by the Head of Publishing & Marketing. You'll also coordinate with the development teams at Ghost Ship Games and our colleagues at external studios across all the titles we publish.

Who You Are and What You Will Be Doing

You are a student with at least 1.5 years remaining in your studies in the fields of Statistics, Business Analytics, or Data Analytics. It is also crucial that you have a strong interest in the gaming industry.

In this role, your main goal will be to structure, visualize, and process data to support the team’s work. Therefore, it is essential that you:

  • Are well-organized and able to present data in a way that is easily understood by people in different roles.

  • Are capable of turning raw data into clear insights that support future decision-making.

  • Possess strong communication skills and the ability to clearly present your ideas.

  • Are familiar with game titles developed by Ghost Ship Games as well as those published by Ghost Ship Games Publishing.

Personality-wise

While you may still be building your experience, you’re curious, eager to learn, and motivated to grow your skills.

You’re genuinely interested in understanding how games work and what influences player behavior, enjoying the process of spotting patterns in how players interact with games.

You’re comfortable sharing what you discover and believe that working together and discussing data leads to better insights than simply presenting results. You see yourself collaborating with people across different teams and contributing to a wide range of data-related topics.

You also
  • Are curious and data-driven.

  • Manage your tasks proactively and work well independently.

  • Have a passion for game development and design.

Your Day-to-Day Tasks Will Include

  • Making dashboards and other visualizations of gameplay and business data.

  • Writing queries and scheduling jobs that make the data in our data warehouses usable for dashboards and visualizations.

  • Doing ad-hoc quantitative analyses based on questions from the development team.

  • Helping the team plan what data to track and what format in which it should be tracked.

Additional duties
  • Depending on your interests, you may also have the opportunity to get involved in other areas of game publishing, such as localization, publishing support, or related fields.

Tools
  • Looker Studio.

  • Bigquery.

  • Snowflake.

  • Data analysis tools of choice (Python, R, Excel, etc.)

Desirable, but not mandatory
  • Interest in games of various genres.

  • Understanding of business operations, product development, and/or general financial reporting.

  • A desire to understand how we can improve our games, together with everyone at Ghost Ship Games.

What We Offer

  • Flexible hours.

  • Competitive salary with an annual bonus.

  • Strong pension plan.

  • Health and dental insurance.

  • Paid parental leave.

  • Vacation in accordance with the Salaried Employees Act (FunktionĂŚrlov).

  • Child sick leave.

  • Spacious office in Gothersgade with lunch and plenty of social shenanigans.

Practical Information

  • You must have at least 1.5 years remaining in your studies.

  • Strong English language skills.

  • This is a part-time (approx. 15 hours/week) student on-site position. To be considered, you must be enrolled in an educational program and live in Copenhagen or within commuting distance.

  • We don’t have a strict deadline for this position, but we will begin reviewing applications after the 3rd of August. The role will remain open until we find the right fit, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.

Application

Let’s keep it brief! No cover letter is needed — just focus on your application responses, and CV. 😊

Review & Interviews

Your application will be reviewed by People & Culture and the Head of Publishing & Marketing, followed by one interview round. The interview will last about 45 min to an hour, during which we’ll discuss your background, experience, and what you’re interested in doing at GSG. If needed, an additional interview round may be scheduled for further clarification.

We welcome everyone to apply! Your unique background strengthens our crew.
