This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring the Workshop & Installations Team Leader to lead by example while serving as the “go-to” person for the workshop and installation teams. The ideal candidate will possess a strong level of technical and product knowledge and act as the first point of contact for both teams.
In addition to personal productivity, the Team Leader is responsible for driving performance, ensuring quality control, and fostering continuous improvement through effective short interval controls. The role also includes deputising for the Regional Manager when required
Key Responsibilities
• Lead daily allocation of production tasks to individual engineers
• Monitor progress against the daily production plan using short interval controls; ensure targets are achieved and recorded accurately
• Personally contribute to production targets when required
• Perform scheduled Quality Control (QC) checks, ensuring compliance with bespoke run-up specifications and technical updates
• Deliver on-the-job training and coaching for both workshop and installation staff
• Support the Regional Manager with technical skills assessments and provide additional training where required
• Ensure working areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation
• Maintain accurate tracking of all physical movements of machines within internal systems to preserve asset integrity
• Oversee the ordering, tracking, and timely return of all spare parts; ensure SLA compliance on advance replacements
• Allocate staff to support large-scale deliveries, collections, and scrappage activities in conjunction with the Inventory Controller
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers’ technical and spares departments
• Assist in the planning of van runs and machine movements to align with customer delivery requirements

• Previous experience in a team leader or supervisory role
• Full UK driving licence
• GCSE level education or equivalent
• Ability to drive 3.5 Tonne van as required
Desirable:
• Technical background in electrical or mechanical fields
• Experience liaising with suppliers and managing spares inventory
