Director, HR Business Partner

Objective of the Position

Reporting to the VP of HR, Americas, the Director, HR - HR Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management within Buckman North America to cultivate a high-performance organization. This role serves as a consultant to management on HR-related issues, executing strategies for talent planning, acquisition, deployment, retention, and development. As a change agent and employee advocate, the Director ensures that organizational culture and HR initiatives align with business objectives, supporting both commercial and operations teams. The role requires strong partnerships with global HR teams and cross-functional collaboration to drive business performance through talent management.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as an HR partner for North America’s Commercial and Operations teams, delivering talent solutions that enable business performance.
  • Build strong partnerships with global HR counterparts to ensure alignment on key initiatives.
  • Enhance organizational performance through effective performance management practices and the application of appropriate performance metrics across the company.
  • Drive change management practices, ensuring the organization adapts to evolving market conditions and business needs.
  • Lead talent development and engagement efforts, ensuring retention and growth of high-potential internal talent for future challenges.
  • Manage the talent acquisition process for sales teams, sourcing and onboarding high performers from the market.
  • Align top-performing talent with roles where they can add the most value, deploying resources to maximize organizational impact.
  • Lead efforts to right-size the sales organization according to strategic business goals.
  • Monitor and improve employee engagement, identifying and resolving issues to ensure associate satisfaction.
  • Oversee and guide the North America HR team, including recruiting and HR operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of HR experience, with expertise in both functional and strategic aspects of Human Resources.
  • Knowledge and experience in at least 3 of the following areas: organizational design, employee relations, leadership development, succession planning, and workforce planning.
  • Proven ability to develop high-potential candidates through targeted development plans.
  • Experience contributing to significant business performance improvements through effective talent strategies.
  • Ability to solve complex people-related challenges.
  • Previous experience as an HR Business Partner in sales and/or operations environments is preferred.
  • Strong track record of leading and executing talent management processes, including talent acquisition, performance management, and talent development.
