NVIDIA's Regulatory Compliance Team seeks an EMC Engineer responsible for the design, simulation, testing, debugging, and certification of NVIDIA products. This role involves collaboration with various engineering teams, conducting tests in labs, developing certification plans, troubleshooting failures, and researching new technologies and regulatory requirements. The engineer will independently handle EMC and safety design, testing, debugging, and customer support, requiring strong expertise in EMC and safety principles, testing equipment, and global regulations.
Must have:
  • EMC and Safety design, testing, and certification experience (2+ years)
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Strong understanding of electronic theory, electromagnetic fields, and EMC theory
  • Proficiency with EMC test equipment
  • Familiarity with global EMC and safety regulations
Good to have:
  • Experience with high-power server EMC
  • Familiarity with EMC simulation software (Ansys HFSS, Maxwell, CST)
  • Excellent cross-functional team collaboration skills

Job Details

We are seeking a EMC Engineer to join NVIDIA's Regulatory Compliance Team. Our team is responsible for the design, simulation, testing, debugging, and certification of NVIDIA products in the areas of EMC, Safety, RF, and Energy Efficiency. This is a collaborative environment where team members support and learn from one another.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Take responsibility for EMC and Safety design, testing, debugging, certification, and customer support independently.

  • Collaborate with Architecture Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Layout Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Thermal Engineers, RF Engineers, Antenna Engineers, Verification Engineers, and Operations Engineers. Work with labs to conduct tests and certify products.

  • Design product architectures for regulatory compliance, including reviewing mechanical designs, schematics, and layouts. Provide recommendations for EMC and Safety design.

  • Develop certification plans and prepare certification materials.

  • Conduct pre-tests and troubleshoot failures.

  • Coordinate with labs to schedule and support tests, review data and reports to complete certifications, and assist customers with troubleshooting issues.

  • Research new technologies and regulatory requirements for new products, summarize findings, and present them to the team.

What we need to see:

  • Strong background in EMC and Safety design, testing, debugging, and certification, with at least 2+ years of experience in EMC.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electromagnetic Fields, or EMC.

  • Solid understanding of Electronic and Electrical Theory, Electromagnetic Fields, and EMC Theory.

  • Familiarity with signal integrity, power integrity, and basic thermal and mechanical design principles.

  • Experience in EMC design, debugging, and testing.

  • Proficiency with EMC test equipment and platforms (e.g., semi-anechoic chambers, spectrum analyzers, receivers, LISN, ISN), along with an understanding of their features and limitations.

  • Familiarity with global EMC and Safety regulations and accreditation standards.

  • Background with EMC simulation software such as Ansys HFSS, Maxwell, CST, etc.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Familiarity with high-power, rack-mounted server EMC and Safety design, testing, and standards is a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
