This Employee Relations Senior Specialist  position is part of the Talent Experience Operations (TEO) team based in Amsterdam, which designs and runs the infrastructure to deliver an outstanding talent experience supporting the full employee lifecycle for Netflix employees in the regional market. 
 

The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Senior Specialist to lead and manage complex employee relations matters while building structured, scalable processes. In this role, you will partner with our HR business partner team, talent experience partners and employees to resolve issues (performance, sickness, disciplinary), ensuring a consistent, non - biased approach.  

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Specialist, Employee Relations - EMEA role at Netflix addresses the problem of maintaining a fair, efficient, and scalable employee relations process within the EMEA region. Overall, the role is designed to enhance the employee experience, foster a high-performance work environment, and mitigate risks associated with employee relations.

Build and Implement Processes:

  • Develop and implement consistent employee relations processes, ensuring fairness, efficiency, and scalability for the EMEA region.

  • Work collaboratively with the HRBP, Legal, and potentially I&D,  to design and roll out employee relations guidelines and workflows.

  • Monitor and evaluate employee relations processes, making data-driven adjustments to ensure continuous improvement and efficiency.

Conduct Thorough Investigations:

  • Document investigation findings and provide comprehensive reports to senior management, ensuring timely resolution and a clear path forward.

  • Make recommendations for corrective actions and discuss with partners such as legal and the HRBP team.

Proactive risk management:

  • Identify trends and root causes of employee relations issues and collaborate with the HRBP team and potentially legal and compliance  to minimize future risks.

  • Collaborate with the Legal team and HRBP team to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations while addressing employee issues.

Managers Support:

  • Act as a trusted partner to managers, helping them navigate sensitive employee issues with consistency. 

  • Apply a consistent process- driven approach in handling employee concerns

Data-Driven Insights:

  • Utilize data and analytics to track employee relations trends, identify areas for improvement, and measure the effectiveness of implemented processes.

  • Prepare and present regular reports to leadership, providing actionable insights to drive decisions and improve overall employee experience.

  • Support organizational goals by leveraging insights from employee relations data to develop scalable solutions that meet business needs.
     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in employee relations or HR, with a strong focus on performance management, investigations, and risk mitigation.

  • Proven experience developing and implementing scalable employee relations processes.

  • Strong knowledge of employment law and the ability to apply this knowledge to practical, business-focused solutions.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to provide sound judgment in complex situations.  

  • Proven ability to build trust across all levels of an organization, driving high-performance outcomes through accountability and structured guidance.

  • Experience partnering with senior leadership to drive alignment on employee relations strategy and outcomes.
