As an Engineering Manager, Android GPU Driver Quality, you will lead a team focused on improving the quality of Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) drivers shipped in the Android ecosystem. You will work with game and high performance app developers to find driver regressions and then transform them into actionable and enforceable certification. You will develop a driver quality metric that will be used to drive and measure ecosystem impact. You will manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally. Our shared vision across the Android Games and Graphics organization is “A world where game development is performed on Android first”. In such a world (i) Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) drivers on Android are reliable, (ii) game developers are able to build and optimize their games faster on Android compared to other platforms, and (iii) we develop technology to monitor key graphics performance metrics and measure success for the Android Games and Graphics organization. Android is Google’s open-source mobile operating system powering more than 3 billion devices worldwide. Android is about bringing computing to everyone in the world. Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience with software development
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role
  • 2 years of experience in a people management role
  • Experience in Android and Graphics
Good to have:
  • Experience in game development
  • Experience with Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) Driver creation, testing, or debugging

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
  • Experience in Android and Graphics.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in game development.
  • Experience with Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) Driver creation, testing, or debugging.
