The Facilities Technician Supervisor will manage a 24/7 technician crew, ensuring the operation and maintenance of various services supporting cleanroom operations. Collaborating with engineering teams, they will focus on system safety, quality, reliability, and performance. Responsibilities include managing electricity, ultra-pure water, waste treatment, solvent recycling, bulk chemical delivery, specialty waste collection, high-purity gas delivery, and hazardous gas monitoring. The supervisor will ensure preventative maintenance programs, technical skills development, and documentation standards are met, along with managing staffing, certifications, and audits.
Must have:
  • 8 years of experience overall
  • 1-2 years in a technical lead or supervisory position
  • Demonstrated communication skills and ability to lead projects
  • Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Basic knowledge of process controls
  • Experience with hazardous materials handling and safety procedures

Facilities Technician Supervisor Description

Join our dynamic team as a Facilities Technician Supervisor in the Wireless Semiconductor Division (WSD) at Broadcom in Fort Collins, Colorado.  Play a pivotal role in managing a 24x7 technician crew that operates and maintains various services supporting cleanroom operation.  Collaborate with diverse engineering teams to elevate system safety, quality, reliability, and performance.  Ownership areas include: Electricity, Ultra-Pure water, Waste Treatment, Solvent Recycle, Bulk Chemical Delivery, Specialty Waste Collection, High-Purity Gas Delivery and Hazardous Gas Monitoring.

Objectives and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide a safe environment for the SCT team and the facility as a whole

  • Work directly with SCT engineering to ensure system quality expectations are met

  • Ensure preventative maintenance programs are executed on time and without error.  Track performance by PM completions, system up time, and unplanned production down time.  Develop expected time to complete tasks with intention to capture a solid understanding of technician wrench time.

  • Ensure technical skills of the team meet current and future demands

  • Support career development of technician staff through cross-training opportunities and engagement with system engineers

  • Perform monthly one on one discussions with each technician. Create individual development plans based on business needs.  Ensure accountability for all direct reports to policy and procedural and performance expectations. 

  • Drive procedure and documentation standards to improve communication and predictable responses and outcomes.

  • Maintain appropriate levels of staffing as needed by business demands. Manage the technician schedule and vacation calendar, resolve resource gaps in advance.

  • Maintain current technician certifications and area of responsibility. Address any area lacking certification and verify training is completed. 

  • Perform monthly 6S audits to identify areas of attention. Maintain current assigned areas of ownership. Review monthly audits performed by technicians and assist with any Red tag issues.

  • Work with EHS to complete required audits and training for technicians. Assist in development and certification for control of hazardous energy (LOTO), fall protection and other safety initiatives.

  • Work with the site ERT to perform cross training with team members. Support team technicians to achieve certification in Hazmat and responder activities

  • Develop working knowledge of site systems and operation to help support the team

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of overall experience

  • 1-2 years in a technical lead or supervisory position

  • Demonstrated communication skills, aptitude to work cohesively in teams, and lead projects when necessary

  • Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems

  • Basic knowledge of process controls

  • Experience with hazardous materials handling and associated safety procedures

  • Flexibility in work hours to provide support to 168 hour team

  • Candidate must have the legal right to work in the US.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $84,000  - $135,000

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
