PlayStation's San Diego Studio is seeking a Game Logic Programmer to enhance gameplay experience by working on logic systems such as baseball-related game logic, AI logic for CPU-controlled teams, and UI support. The role involves collaborating with designers, producers, and testers to identify problems and provide solutions. Responsibilities include maintaining and improving existing logic systems, designing and implementing systems and tools, writing clear and maintainable code, adhering to coding standards, profiling and performance tuning, and testing and debugging code. Job Title: Game Logic Programmer

Location: San Diego/Hybrid or Remote

 

PlayStation’s San Diego Studio is seeking a Programmer to join the team behind the critically acclaimed “MLB - The Show” game series.

In this role you will work on logic systems that help enhance the gameplay experience. Systems worked on may include baseball related game logic, AI logic for CPU controlled teams, UI support, and many more. You will work closely with the designers, producers, and testers to identify problems, provide solutions, and improve the quality of the series.

Responsibilities:

  • Helping maintain and improve existing logic systems.
  • Designing and implementing systems and tools to support designer needs.
  • Writing clear, maintainable, portable, and highly functional code.
  • Follow coding standards and best practices.
  • Profiling and performance tuning of code and systems to remove bottlenecks.
  • Testing and debugging of your code and that of others past and present.

 

Required:

  • Expertise in C++.
  • General baseball knowledge including rules, strategies, statistics and roster makeup is essential.
  • Self-motivated with good communication skills.
  • Able and motivated to work with other team members.
  • Commitment to code quality and sound testing procedures.
  • B.S. degree in computer science or equivalent experience.

 

Plus:

  • Game development experience.
