TheHead of the Visual Arts Departmentwill lead, manage, and inspire the department, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and artistic excellence. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding ofboth the IGCSE and IBDP Visual Arts curriculaand be passionate about developing students' creativity and skills. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Management:
Lead and manage the Visual Arts Department, including mentoring and supporting teachers.
Oversee curriculum planning, development, and assessment in line with IGCSE and IBDP standards.
Ensure continuous professional development for department staff through workshops and training.
Curriculum Planning & Implementation
Design and implement a challenging and engaging curriculum for IGCSE and IBDP Visual Arts students.
Develop and oversee art exhibitions, projects, and events to showcase student work.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of curriculum changes and best practices in art education.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing guidance and support where necessary.
Teaching & Mentoring
Teach Visual Arts classes as needed, ensuring a high level of engagement and student-centered learning.
Guide and mentor students in the creation of their IGCSE and IBDP art portfolios.
Provide individual feedback and support to students to help them reach their full potential.
Administrative & Operational Duties
Manage the department budget and resources effectively, ensuring materials and equipment are maintained.
Coordinate with other academic departments and contribute to the broader academic community.
Ensure compliance with school policies, safeguarding, and health and safety regulations in the art studios.
