We are looking for a Lab Technician/Assistant Editor to join our busy Lab and Technical Team. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of relevant experience in the industry, a strong technical and operational understanding of the post production process, attention to detail, and strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Carry out technical bookings in our Lab, covering Dailies, IO, QC, Deliverables, and Archiving.
- Work autonomously, taking responsibility and ownership over tasks attributed to you and, when required, having oversight over tasks being carried out by junior team members.
- Ensure all labs tasks are tracked and necessary data passed to Post Production Managers/Coordinators.
- Advise on and implement the most efficient workflows, systems, and processes, ensuring they are to industry security standards and meet company policy.
- Provide front-line technical support of our on-premises and remote edit systems.
- Work with the Project and Technical Teams to fulfil delivery requirements.
- Work closely with the lab team to identify areas of improvement and provide mentoring to other team members where appropriate and as required.
- Providing support to Technical and Post Production Management teams as required.
- This role has a weekend “on call” rota requirement.
Requirements:
- Confident and proficient in using Avid Media Composer, Adobe Creative Cloud and DaVinci Resolve.
- Good knowledge of Shared Storage, Media Management, Asset Management and File Sharing Systems.
- Experience in using scheduling software, the Microsoft Office suite, as well as general IT competency with Mac or Windows operating-systems.
- A sound understanding of the principles, workflows, technologies and terminologies of Broadcast, HETV, VFX and Film Post Production.
- Experience of working within a fast-paced Broadcast and Film Post Production Facility.
- Proven track record in a senior technical and/or assistant editor role.
