Overview

ZeniMax Media seeks a dynamic Lead Infrastructure Engineer to balance leadership with hands-on technical work. You will lead and mentor a new team, fostering a supportive learning environment. This role involves collaboration with support specialists and requires excellent communication and data-driven decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Deployment & Monitoring: Deploy, monitor, and maintain systems infrastructure (servers, ESX, NetApp) using tools like Datadog. Ensure reliable performance and availability, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.
  • Cloud Management: Optimize cloud environments (Azure, AWS) including VPCs, VPNs, DNS, firewalls, and load balancers. Implement best practices for cloud security and cost management.
  • Critical Systems Support: Manage and support systems like Active Directory, Azure AD, SCCM, and Intune. Provide ongoing troubleshooting and optimization to ensure efficient operation.
  • Data Center Operations: Support Ashburn data center operations, including on-call emergencies and planned project work. Ensure infrastructure is well-maintained and contributes to organizational efficiency.
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to increase efficiency by implementing automated solutions that reduce manual workloads. Develop and support self-service tools to empower end-users and decrease dependency on support teams.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and support infrastructure and system administrators, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture. Set clear goals, ensure accountability, and act as a point of escalation for the team.
  • Documentation: Collaborate with IT peers to develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documentation for repeatable tasks, ensuring consistent and efficient operations.
  • Project Oversight: Act as the project point of contact for larger Enterprise Service team initiatives. Oversee project execution in alignment with organizational goals, ensuring compliance with IT processes and successful outcomes.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure all infrastructure and processes comply with security standards and regulatory requirements. Implement and maintain security measures to protect company data and systems.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to ensure timely delivery of services and products. Manage vendor relationships and evaluate performance to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of IT infrastructure experience or equivalent education.
  • Expertise in cloud services (Azure, AWS), networking, and infrastructure monitoring.
  • Experience with desktop engineering tools (Intune, SCCM).
  • Strong networking and monitoring tool proficiency (Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog).
  • Hands-on experience with on-site IT infrastructure.
  • Strong documentation and automation skills (Python, PowerShell).
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

Salary Range

Lead Infrastructure Engineer - The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $125,000 - $240,000 per year.

           

ZeniMax has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The range above reflects the potential base pay across the U.S. for this role; the applicable base pay range will depend on what ultimately is determined to be the candidate’s primary work location. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.

At ZeniMax certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, such as merit increases and discretionary bonuses. These awards are allocated based on individual performance and are not guaranteed.
