Job Description

Tesla is seeking a talented Metrology Engineer to lead its metrology lab in Athens, Greece. Responsibilities include developing and executing CMM programs for mechanical parts and assemblies, maintaining and calibrating measuring instruments, diagnosing and resolving metrology issues, designing and implementing jigs and fixtures, training technicians, contributing to lab quality initiatives, working with various measuring equipment (CMMs and OMMs), sourcing new equipment, analyzing measurement data to identify defects, collaborating with engineering teams, and maintaining documentation according to Tesla standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in quality and metrology engineering, proficiency with CMMs (preferably LK ALTERA), solid GD&T knowledge, strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, excellent communication skills, and fluency in English.

What to Expect

We are seeking a talented Metrology Engineer who will leading the metrology lab in Athens.

What You’ll Do

Develop and execute CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) programs for various mechanical parts and assemblies.
Maintenance and calibration of measuring instruments - Verify and adjust measuring tools to ensure accurate results.
Diagnose and resolve issues related to metrology programs and equipment.
Identify and assist in the design and implementation of jigs and fixtures for new product introductions.
Train technicians in the proper use of metrology instruments.
Contribute to and uphold all labs quality initiatives and programs.
Work with various types of measuring equipment available within the group. This includes CMMs and OMMs.
Identify and source measuring equipment to better meet the metrology requirements. 
Data analysis – parse measurement results to identify manufacturing defects.
Collaborate with cross functional engineering teams for measurement strategies.
Maintain documentation of measurement results according to Tesla standards.

Ανάπτυξη και εκτέλεση προγραμμάτων CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine / Μηχανή Μέτρησης Συντεταγμένων) για διάφορα μηχανικά μέρη και συγκροτήματα.
Συντήρηση και βαθμονόμηση οργάνων μέτρησης - Επαλήθευση και προσαρμογή των εργαλείων μέτρησης για τη διασφάλιση αποτελεσμάτων ακριβείας.
Διάγνωση και επίλυση ζητημάτων σε σχέση με τα προγράμματα και τον εξοπλισμό μετρολογίας.
Προσδιορισμός και συμμετοχή στον σχεδιασμό και την εφαρμογή ιδιοκατασκευών και εξαρτημάτων για την παρουσίαση νέων προϊόντων.
Εκπαίδευση τεχνικών στη σωστή χρήση των οργάνων μετρολογίας.
Συμβολή σε και υποστήριξη όλων των πρωτοβουλιών και των προγραμμάτων σε σχέση με την ποιότητα των εργαστηρίων.
Εργασία με διάφορους τύπους εξοπλισμού μέτρησης που διατίθενται στην ομάδα. Εν προκειμένω συμπεριλαμβάνονται μηχανές CMM και OMM.
Προσδιορισμός και προμήθεια εξοπλισμού μέτρησης για καλύτερη ικανοποίηση των απαιτήσεων μετρολογίας. 
Ανάλυση δεδομένων – Ανάλυση αποτελεσμάτων μέτρησης για τον προσδιορισμό κατασκευαστικών ελαττωμάτων.
Συνεργασία με διαλειτουργικές ομάδες μηχανικών για στρατηγικές μέτρησης.
Διατήρηση αρχείων τεκμηρίωσης των αποτελεσμάτων μέτρησης σύμφωνα με τα πρότυπα της Tesla.

What You’ll Bring

Experience in Quality and Metrology engineering.
Proficient in using CMM (preferably LK ALTERA) machine and metrology equipment.
Solid knowledge in GD&T.
Strong fundamentals in mechanical engineering.
Demonstrate innovation, technical excellence, attention to detail and self-direction.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
English fluently in speaking, reading and writing.
