Location: San Diego, CA / Work From Home (WFH)

Salary Range: $65,000 - $110,000, pay may vary on location.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Network Engineer to join our dynamic Technical Operations group. Our team manages and operates multiple datacenters globally, supporting a variety of gaming products. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in network engineering, with experience working with a range of network devices and technologies, as well as strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain network devices across all sites, including switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, wireless and related equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and F5.
  • Respond to and resolve internal customer requests, providing excellent customer service.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure network availability and performance.
  • Conduct periodic visits to datacenters for maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with the technical operations team to support the organization's 300 users and 8 live gaming products across 5 global datacenters.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
  • Utilize scripting languages like Python to automate network tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve the network infrastructure.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in network engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with network devices from Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and F5.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching.
  • Experience with network management, monitoring, and troubleshooting tools.
  • Proficiency in Python for network automation is a plus.
  • Excellent technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work with a broad range of technologies and handle diverse implementation discrepancies.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent certifications.
  • Experience working in a multi-vendor environment.
  • Familiarity with enterprise network requirements; datacenter, offices, etc.

 

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

 

Work Environment:

  • This is a work-from-home (WFH) position, but the candidate must be local to the San Diego studio.
  • Travel to the home studio, remote studios, and datacenters as required by projects.
