As a Product Manager, Search at Google, you will be responsible for guiding products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You will work cross-functionally to define product road maps, validate market opportunities, and facilitate launches. You will be an advocate for Japan's needs across the Search Verticals and International (SVI) team, identifying and shaping features that benefit Japanese users. This role requires strong communication skills, fluency in Japanese, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 3 years of experience in product management or related technical role
  • Experience delivering elements of the product development life cycle
  • Ability to work and deliver with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work with designers to deliver results
  • Ability to communicate in Japanese fluently
  • Excellent communication skills
Good to have:
  • 5 years of experience in product management building consumer software products
  • Knowledge of Japanese culture, consumer behavior, and language

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • Experience delivering elements of the product development life cycle such as product goal, go-to-market strategy, delivering requirements, and product launch.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in product management building consumer software products.
  • Knowledge of Japanese culture, consumer behavior, and language, and to develop products that resonate with Japanese users.
  • Ability to work and deliver with cross-functional teams (Design, Engineering, Release, Adoption).
  • Ability to work with designers to deliver results.
  • Ability to communicate in Japanese fluently to interact with local stakeholders and understand user needs in the Japanese market.
  • Excellent communication skills.

In this role, you will be an advocate for Japan's needs across the Search Verticals and International (SVI) team. You will identify, advocate, and shape features that benefit Japanese users, even those outside your immediate technical expertise. You will collaborate with colleagues globally to build a Search experience that is both cohesive and uniquely tailored to Japan.

Responsibilities

  • Support Product Requirements Documents by collaborating with partner teams (e.g., Engineers, Program Manager (PgM), UX) during product design and development to implement the requirements.
  • Define product road maps by operationalizing defined strategy.
  • Communicate a defined product outlook in a way that captures attention influences others to drive action despite obstacles and engaging priorities.
  • Validate the market size and opportunity (e.g., user-based, strategic opportunity, business growth). Identify opportunities in the market landscape.
  • Facilitate launches, maintenance, and retirement in collaboration with other cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
