Job Description

The QA Manager will be responsible for building and leading the QA team from the ground up, ensuring high-quality standards for Cyberpunk 2. This role involves executing the QA strategy, adapting it to project needs, collaborating with internal and external partners, establishing quality metrics, and managing risks. The candidate will also drive change management initiatives and regularly audit processes to maintain quality. The responsibilities include team leadership, process improvement, and strong communication skills.
Must have:
  • 5+ years of game industry experience in a similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with game development processes and methodologies.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring experience.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and QA processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on process optimization.
  • Experience in risk management, quality control, and change management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
Good to have:
  • Appreciation for the Cyberpunk universe.
  • Experience working with Unreal Engine.
  • Experience writing scripts for automation or process improvement.

Job Description

CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a QA Manager to join our studio in Boston to work on Cyberpunk 2, the follow-up to Cyberpunk 2077. In this role, you will be responsible for building and leading the QA team from the ground up while ensuring the highest quality standards across the project. You will drive the execution of the QA strategy, adapt it to the needs of the project, and collaborate closely with internal and external partners to deliver a top-tier gaming experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building and leading a new QA team dedicated to Project Orion, implementing the defined roles and responsibilities, and ensuring effective development plans for team members.
  • Executing the QA strategy and adapting it to the specific needs of the project.
  • Proactively identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance workflows and optimize efficiency across the project.
  • Establishing and monitoring quality metrics, setting quality standards, and ensuring proper use of tools and processes.
  • Collaborating with external QA vendors to ensure strong cooperation, clear communication, and alignment with project quality expectations.
  • Managing risks and dependencies by identifying potential issues early and creating action plans to address them.
  • Driving change management initiatives, ensuring all stakeholders understand and adopt necessary changes.
  • Regularly auditing processes and implementing corrective actions to maintain high standards of quality.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of game industry experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of delivering AAA games.
  • Hands-on experience with industry-standard game development processes and methodologies.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring experience, with a history of managing senior staff across disciplines.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience setting up QA processes for cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on process optimization and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with risk management, quality control, and change management in large-scale projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

Additional Information

This job requires working in Boston, US.
Working mode: in-office in a hybrid or full-time capacity.
