Microsoft's Studio+91 seeks a Senior Designer and Researcher to lead independent research projects, collaborating with designers, product managers, and engineers. Responsibilities include defining research strategies, planning and executing studies, and communicating findings to the product team. The ideal candidate will have experience in user research, diverse research methodologies, and translating data into actionable recommendations. They will advocate for users throughout the development process and demonstrate the business value of user-centric design. The role requires strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Must have:
- 8+ years experience in product/service design (or equivalent)

We are looking for a talented Senior Designer and Researcher who exhibits deep user empathy & analytical ability; has excellent command of research methodologies & communication skills, to work collaboratively with designers, product managers and engineers to uncover & drive insights into experiences.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 8+ years experience working in product or service design
- OR Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 6+ years experience working in product or service design
- OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems)
- 4+ years experience shipping products, services, or games and/or delivering to customers as a result of an end-to-end design process
Additional or Preferred Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in the technology industry conducting User research, with a proven track record of driving tangible outcomes with product teams.
- Strong understanding of & experience with a broad range of research methodologies, their pros/cons and their application during different phases of product development.
- Track record of collaborating across disciplines (design, engineering) to drive change into products; must be able to work independently as well as part of a cohesive team.
- Proven ability to work within tight timelines and with excellent project management skills.

Responsibilities
You will be leading research projects independently, either alone or with a team of researchers, working closely with a team of designers, product managers and engineers in a highly collaborative and agile environment. Projects usually start with a fundamental inquiry, arrived collaboratively with stakeholders across
design, product & engineering. This also entails identifying & prioritizing research inquiries and
defining the research strategy for your product area.

- You should be able to plan and execute research studies and accurately estimate project time
without oversight, - This also means thinking strategically, creating research plans and applying relevant research
methods to reveal unmet-unarticulated needs, motivations & behaviours of our users and
customers. Additionally, you would have to understand and incorporate business and technical
requirements into your studies. - A command of a wide range of research methods along with the ability to articulate and
communicate research insights at all stages of product development is essential. - You should be able to make connections across different research areas, making connections and
identifying patterns to enable larger product goals - You are expected to communicate results and opportunities in clear, concise, and compelling
ways to all levels of the product team, translate data into insights & research findings into
actionable recommendations. - Most importantly, you’ll need to be a passionate advocate for our users throughout the
development process and demonstrate how this leads to business value.
