Job Description

As a Simulator Technician, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of simulators and their associated systems. This involves performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing and resolving routine issues, and conducting pre-flight and post-flight tasks. You'll also handle basic visual alignments, run qualification tests, and utilize a maintenance management system. You'll be expected to provide excellent customer service, address customer needs promptly, and handle logistics duties. Additionally, you will assist with refurbishments, hardware modifications, and adhere to quality management standards. This role requires a strong technical background and proficiency in reading schematics and using test equipment.
Must have:
  • Perform preventive maintenance on simulator systems.
  • Diagnose and correct simulator system problems.
  • Perform pre-flight and post-flight simulator tasks.
  • Utilize maintenance management system for tracking.
  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent training.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting prints.

  • Essential Job Functions
    • Learn and perform preventive maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems. 
    • Assist in diagnosing and correcting routine problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems. 
    • Perform pre-flight and post flight tasks on designated simulators. 
    • Perform basic visual alignments. 
    • Run automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG). 
    • Utilize maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities. 
    • Complete all designated training activities. 
    • Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications.
    • Learn and comply with CAE quality management system.
    • Provide customer service support and address customer needs in a timely manner. 
    • Perform logistics duties, including parts received, repair, and testing/validation.
    • Perform housekeeping functions to maintain the simulators as required. 
    • Perform all administrative tasks as required. 

Education & Experience Requirements

  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent related training
  • 0-2 years direct simulator experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting prints and schematics
  • Knowledge of analog and digital theory
  • Basic skills in the operation of test equipment
  • Basic skills in soldering and circuit board repair
  • Some knowledge of PCs and MS-Office tools and suite
  • Motivated in customer support and attention to detail
  • Minimal travel may be required (less than 10%). 
  • Pay Rate: $32.00 per hour, shift differential may apply based on assignment.
