You will collaborate with team members and stakeholders to gather insights, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, define best practice testing standards, lead initiatives, and provide guidance to junior engineers.
Must have:
  • 11+ years of experience

  • Microservices Architecture & Design Patterns
  • Spring Core & Spring Boot
  • JavaScript, React JS (Context, Redux, react-query, react-hooks, apollo)
  • Angular 12+
  • HTML 5, CSS, Accessibility
  • Frontend application design & performance tuning
  • SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Application Monitoring (New Relic, Splunk)
  • Cloud Platform experience
  • CI/CD tools (GitLab, Bamboo)
Good to have:
  • Pivotal Cloud Foundry experience

Focus of the role:

Our Staff Engineers work within Telstra Sales and Ordering teams working on Agile at scale, DevOps focused, where they collaborate with other Engineers, Product Owners, Designers & other stakeholders. Ideal candidate will be a full time, full stack hands-on developer or someone who can grow in full stack role.

Responsibilities:

As a Staff Engineer, you apply deep experience and technical know-how in the

Software Engineering domain to:

  • Design, build and maintain multiple complex software application technologies and their interaction with Telstra processes and systems
  • Develop innovative software that maintains data/ network security management, and leverage set processes to reduce the time between commission and production
  • Authentically engage with and influence a multi-stakeholder landscape to translate customer needs into leading-edge software application products, services or systems that meet Telstra’s time, cost and quality standards
  • Collaborate with team members and key stakeholders, seeking support, direction and buy-in to gather deep insights about the challenges and opportunities of our software application technologies and platforms.
  • Significantly contribute to continuous improvement initiatives of our systems and processes, to help define ‘best practice’ corporate testing standards and drive improved outcomes (e.g. productivity, customer experience and/or profitability).
  • Lead initiatives or components of initiatives in line with the strategic direction of your team/mission, that have a significant degree of impact to the function or cross- functionally.
  • Take ownership of your own actions and decisions to drive positive outcomes within your team/mission, and provide guidance to more junior engineers in order to support their development and contribution to team/mission outcomes.

Essential Skills:

  • 11+ Yrs of experience
  • Java version 11 + with good knowledge of J2SE and J2EE architecture.
  • Microservcies Architecture and Design patterns
  • Spring Core and SpringBoot Framework
  • JavaScript, React Js stack (Context, Redux, react-query, react-hooks, apollo) and angular 12+
  • HTML 5, CSS, understanding of accessibility requirements
  • Hands on Experience with designing and performance tuning frontend applications
  • Hands-on with both SQL and NoSQL DB
  • Application Monitoring tools such as New Relic, Splunk
  • Cloud Platform experience
  • CICD tools such as GitLab and Bamboo
  • Pivotal Cloud Foundry experience will be highly regarded but not a must.
