The Account Strategist, Mid-Market Sales role at Google Customer Solutions in Africa focuses on driving business growth for medium and large businesses. Responsibilities include delivering against ambitious quarterly targets, owning a portfolio of clients, understanding their growth drivers, identifying opportunities, managing risks, and building multi-quarter plans. The role requires proactive pitching and consulting with customers, supporting annual digital marketing discussions and budgets, and delivering outstanding customer sales experiences. Job Details

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in advertising sales, marketing, consulting, or media.
  • Ability to communicate in English fluently to support client relationships in the region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience assessing and achieving client success via sales techniques, including effective questioning, objection handling and engaged promotions.
  • Knowledge of online marketing strategy and tactics and expertise in managing digital advertising campaigns with a focus on performance marketing.
  • Demonstrated ability to own a portfolio in an advertising or media sales context in region and consistently overachieve quotas to drive growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to build compelling narratives and utilize storytelling as a client engagement strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver against ambitious quarterly business growth and product growth targets.
  • Own a portfolio of medium and large size businesses by thoroughly understanding growth drivers, identifying opportunities for growth, managing risks and building multi-quarter plans for achievement.
  • Pitch and consult with customers proactively to support annual digital marketing discussions and budgets.
  • Drive customer growth by delivering outstanding customer sales experience and achieving customer business and marketing objectives.
  • Stakeholder management. Build relationships with the end customer or agencies.
