Job Description

As an Application Engineer at Cadence, you will be an integral member of the North America Verification Field Applications Engineering Team, working directly with industry-leading semiconductor and system companies. Your primary responsibilities include deploying Cadence’s verification platforms, providing front-line technical support in the pre and post-sales process, and collaborating with the account team to develop innovative solutions for customer verification challenges. You will be responsible for customer success by developing specific verification requirements, supporting technical evaluations, and creating product demonstrations. This role offers the opportunity to deepen knowledge in verification tools and methodologies, and enhance communication, customer, and sales skills. You will be involved in both pre and post-sales processes.
Must have:
  • BSEE or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant experience
  • DV experience of developing tests at complex Subsystem or SOC level test-benches
  • Creating UVM/C tests that run on ARM/DSP/RISC-V cores.
  • Hands-on exposure to Develop, Compile, Run & Debug C/C++ Bare-metal/Firmware/Software tests/apps.
  • Good understanding of HW register spec’s, Memory maps and develop/debug firmware or embedded software
  • Exposure to running tests for performance, coherency, power characterization in pre/post silicon setups
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of PSS (Portable Stimulus Standard) and Perspec
  • Experience in developing C/C++ based embedded software/firmware, bring-up & debugging in setups

As an integral member of the North America Verification Field Applications Engineering (AE) Team, you will work directly with industry leading semiconductor and system companies to deploy Cadence’s market leading verification platforms including cutting edge technologies as Portable Stimulus Standard and machine learning. In this customer facing role you will provide the front-line technical support in the pre and post-sales process and will work with the account team to come up with innovative solutions to address our customers’ most challenging problems in verification. You will own customer success!


In this role, you will develop customer specific verification requirements, including advanced verification component development, methodology support, and operation and maintenance of Cadence’s verification tools and services. You will support technical evaluations and benchmark development for Cadence’s market leading tools such as Xcelium simulation platform, Palladium emulation platform, vManager verification management platform, Perspec portable stimulus system and our vast VIP portfolio. You will create and conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations for customers.

Minimum Requirements:

* BSEE or equivalent required with 5+ years of relevant experience
* DV experience of developing tests at complex Subsystem or SOC level test-benches, creating UVM/C tests that run on ARM/DSP/RISC-V cores.

* Hands-on exposure to Develop, Compile, Run & Debug C/C++ Bare-metal/Firmware/Software tests/apps (targeting ARM CPU’s/DSP/RISC-V) in Pre-Silicon (Simulation/Emulation/FPGA platforms) & Post-Silicon (Bringup boards) setups

* Good understanding of HW register spec’s, Memory maps and develop/debug firmware or embedded software

* Exposure to running tests for performance, coherency, power characterization in pre/post silicon setups 

Preferred:

* Knowledge of PSS (Portable Stimulus Standard) and Perspec 

* Experience in developing C/C++ based embedded software/firmware, bring-up & debugging in setups (SW+HW)
