Disney Consumer Products (DCP) is the division of Disney Experiences that brings beloved brands and franchises into the daily lives of families and fans through products – from toys to t-shirts, apps, books, console games and more – and experiences that can be found around the world, including on the Disney Store e-commerce platform and at Disney Parks, local and international retailers, as well as Disney Store locations globally. The business is home to world-class teams of product, licensing and retail experts, artists and storytellers, and technologists who inspire imaginations around the world.

The Assistant Manager, Marketing & Commercial, National Geographic role will work with the National Geographic APAC Consumer Products team to drive the brand in the region and support the retail store roll-out across multiple markets.

Our team is responsible for:

  • Championing the National Geographic brand values in APAC as the regional brand custodians
  • Delivering the National Geographic retail store AOP and LTP numbers through close partnership with licensees, local teams and internal stakeholders
  • Driving consistency in the National Geographic retail experience across diverse markets and models
  • Empowering and supporting local teams and other regional functions to better understand the hero brand generally, and the retail program specifically
  • Collating and sharing activities across APAC through structured templates that capture all aspects of business across all markets, including marketing, PR, sales, earned revenue, store openings etc.
  • Connecting with our stakeholders and our stakeholders with each other, using our strong relationships to foster a culture of sharing and support within our store network and with our regional and global internal functions

Responsibilities:

National Geographic Stores

  • Overseeing new and emerging store markets by supporting from pitch through to execution
  • On-boarding partners through connecting with all relevant functions including retail, Product Development (PD), International Labour Standards (ILS), etc.
  • Championing needs of these markets with regards to information gathering, approvals – one stop shop for any questions regarding their status
  • Driving a meeting cadence to maximise visibility and support
  • Establishing and maintaining consistent templates and processes for new partner information tracking
  • Supporting with administrative set ups, such as URL establishment and allocation + SRR on-boarding
  • Owning relationships with key stakeholders in the wider National Geographic ecosystem, including National Geographic UX and the magazine team

National Geographic Wholesale Partners

  • Driving National Geographic wholesale partner business, specific focus on: Cubic Fun, JJ&C, Vitec, Guangzhou Jinghua, RDP, Dr Cool
  • Partnering with local and regional category teams to identify and support white space pitches, e.g. stationery, STEM
  • Advocating for wholesale business opportunities within all store accounts
  • Tracking YOY performance and leading JBP discussions for regional partners

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' of experience in marketing or commercial roles
  • Experience in licensing and/or fashion retail
