Job Title: Conference Services Associate (Front of House Engineer)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Family: Human Resources

Department: Employee Services

Location: On-site (Fort Wayne, IN)

Schedule: Regular evening and weekend hours are required but are balanced by a flexible work-week schedule and some weekends off.


JOB SUMMARY

Assist in meeting the mission of our growing organization through facilities, internal partnering, and technical support to functional areas including conference services, special events, and community outreach. Help maintain the standard for resource management, adherence to best practices, and teamwork; execute the highest quality experience in audio-visual and events for 600+ employees and guests.


POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate technical components of human resources' corporate events and initiatives as assigned, such as corporate-hosted community events, employee and conference events, and meetings.
  • Collaborate with conference services and event staff to plan events and execute activities based on company and departmental objectives.
  • Maintain training, documentation, and inventory of audio-visual and facilities resources.
  • Assist information technology, building and grounds, café, and human resources staff in event setup and basic troubleshooting as needed.
  • Facilitate the execution of after-hours deliverables and track services provided.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with third parties, internal departments, and outside vendors to ensure smooth operations of assigned projects and initiatives.
  • Research new techniques and suggest enhancements to programs, processes, and delivery options within assigned functional areas.
  • Complete other projects as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Must have excellent audio-visual technical skills, including production execution using soundboard, lighting console, and graphics hardware and software, such as Allen & Heath audioboard and ProPresenter.
  • Must have excellent PC and Mac computer skills, including working knowledge of ProPresenter, Microsoft Office, calendar, and scheduling software.
  • Must exhibit great customer service, professionalism, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills, work well under pressure with multiple deadlines, and document processes well.
  • Must acquire or have knowledge of standard event and safety practices and procedures.
  • Must maintain absolute confidentiality.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance; available to work up to 40 hours flexibly, including some early mornings, some evenings, and weekends.
  • Must have physical ability to lift 30-pound items and transport them to designated areas.
  • Effectively interface with community contacts, Brotherhood employees, managers, and department staff members.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Education and/or Experience

  • Must have an Associate’s degree majoring in sound technology, IT or related field.
  • Must have at least two years of audio-visual or production experience in a ministry, non-profit or other “high contact” community environment experience.
  • Professional certification in sound technology or event management would be desired.
