Job Summary
Job Description
As an L4 AWS Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing expert-level technical support for complex AWS-based solutions. You will lead critical incident response, architect solutions, and drive strategic initiatives related to AWS. Key responsibilities include developing, managing, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and Opsera, automating infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and CloudFormation, and administering key AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and IAM. You will also focus on strengthening security, designing networking components, performing cost optimization, troubleshooting issues, designing scalable cloud solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring high levels of security and compliance. Additionally, you will develop automation scripts using Python and AWS Lambda for operational tasks, engage in strategic planning for cloud adoption and migration, provide architecture leadership for enterprise-level architectures, and manage EKS clusters. Innovation in emerging AWS technologies and promotion of containers and microservices are also key aspects, along with establishing cloud governance, leading audits, and acting as the final escalation point for critical incidents. Mentoring junior engineers and representing the team in client discussions are also expected.

As an L4 AWS Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing expert-level technical support for complex AWS-based solutions. You will lead critical incident response, architect solutions, and drive strategic initiatives related to AWS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and Opsera.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Administer and optimize key AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and IAM.
- Strengthen security by implementing best practices for IAM, encryption, and network security (VPC, Security Groups, WAF, NACLs, etc.).
- Design, configure, and maintain AWS networking components such as VPCs, Subnets, Route53, Transit Gateway, and Security Groups.
- Perform cost optimization by analyzing AWS usage patterns and implementing efficiency strategies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues in a production environment.
- Design and implement scalable cloud solutions using AWS services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align cloud infrastructure with business goals.
- Ensure high levels of security and compliance within AWS environments.
- Develop automation scripts using Python and AWS Lambda for routine operational tasks.
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams as needed.
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop strategies for cloud adoption, migration, and multi-cloud/hybrid-cloud operations.
- Align AWS solutions with business objectives and stakeholder requirements.
- Architecture Leadership:
- Design and oversee the implementation of large-scale, enterprise-level architectures.
- Provide input for technology roadmaps and long-term AWS adoption plans.
- Cluster Management and Operations
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable and highly available EKS clusters.
- Manage Kubernetes objects like Pods, Deployments, StatefulSets, ConfigMaps, and Secrets.
- Implement and manage Kubernetes resource scheduling, scaling, and lifecycle management.
- Automation and IaC (Infrastructure as Code)
- Automate the provisioning of EKS clusters and associated AWS resources using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Develop and maintain Helm charts for consistent application deployments.
- Implement GitOps workflows using tools like ArgoCD or FluxCD for continuous delivery.
- Innovation:
- Evaluate and implement emerging AWS technologies (e.g., AI/ML services, serverless architectures).
- Promote the use of containers (ECS, EKS) and microservices for modern application delivery.
- Governance & Compliance:
- Establish cloud governance policies, ensuring adherence to regulatory and organizational standards.
- Lead audits and manage compliance for PCI, HIPAA, and other industry requirements.
- Incident Resolution Leadership:
- Act as the final escalation point for critical incidents and outages.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and define preventive measures for recurring issues.
- Mentorship & Training:
- Mentor junior engineers and lead training programs on AWS best practices.
- Represent the Managed Services team in client discussions and stakeholder presentations.
- Collaboration:
- Partner with DevOps, product, and leadership teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Act as a liaison between the Managed Services team and AWS account managers.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Opsera, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS CodePipeline.
- Strong experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Knowledge of AWS networking, including VPCs, Route53, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Load Balancers, and firewalls.
- Proficiency in security best practices, IAM policies, encryption, and compliance standards.
- Deep understanding of AWS core services and advanced features.
- Strong expertise in AWS automation, scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell), and CLI.
- Proficiency in AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, and other infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Knowledge of AWS security best practices, identity and access management, and networking.
- Capacity Planning: Analyze future resource needs and plan capacity accordingly.
- Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Migration and Modernization: Lead large-scale migration and modernization projects.
- Cost Optimization: Implement cost-saving strategies and optimize resource utilization.
