  • Guide and support the design team in developing innovative, engaging, and in-line with the creative direction of game mechanics, systems, and features, promoting collaboration and diverse perspectives.
  • Oversee the development of the game’s story, characters, and world, ensuring that the narrative is compelling and enhances the overall gameplay experience.
  • Work closely with the art team to establish the visual style, ensuring it supports the creative vision and game design and is inclusive of different player perspectives and experiences.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and marketing teams to ensure the creative vision is effectively implemented and communicated throughout the game’s development and beyond.
  • Drive innovation in game design and storytelling, ensuring the highest level of quality in all creative aspects of the game, from initial concept to final execution.
  • Inspire, mentor, and support a multidisciplinary team of designers, artists, and writers, fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute their best work.
  • Ensure that game design and creative elements are centered around delivering a memorable, inclusive, and satisfying experience for all players.
  • Oversee the game's post-launch content, updates, and live service support to ensure ongoing player engagement and satisfaction.
What types of education and experience do you need for this role?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Game Design/Development, Project Management, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in the game industry, with at least 5+ years in a creative leadership role (e.g., Creative Director, Lead Designer, etc.).
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire creative teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment that values diverse perspectives.
  • Strong background and professional experience in game design with a proven record of delivering successful AAA games, particularly in the strategy genre.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate creative ideas and decisions to a diverse range of team members and stakeholders.
  • Strong artistic and narrative sensibilities, with the ability to translate high-level concepts into engaging gameplay experiences that resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Ability to think creatively and critically, with strong problem-solving skills to overcome creative and technical challenges during game development.
  • Deep understanding of game design principles, player psychology, and current trends in the gaming industry, particularly within the strategy genre.
  • A deep passion for strategy games and a commitment to pushing the boundaries of the genre to create inclusive experiences for all players.
