Job Description

Tesla's Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg seeks a Data Scientist to design and develop data-driven applications improving manufacturing quality. Responsibilities include working with large datasets, solving complex analysis problems using advanced methods, collaborating with stakeholders to refine analysis scope, identifying opportunities to increase manufacturing quality, building and prototyping analysis pipelines, and supporting production applications. The ideal candidate possesses strong Python and SQL skills, a foundation in statistics and machine learning, experience building valuable machine learning models, and proficiency in software development, DevOps, and CI/CD.

Must have:

High proficiency in Python, SQL
Strong statistics and machine learning foundation
Experience building valuable ML models
Professional software development experience
DevOps and CI/CD experience (Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins)
Excellent communication skills

Good to have:

Bachelors or Masters in CS/Engineering
Fullstack knowledge
Familiarity with Airflow, Elastic Search
Basic sysadmin capabilities
Experience with Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, MQTT, Faust, Spark Streaming

The Role

Come join a team of experts building the systems that improve and perfect quality at Tesla.

We are looking for a motivated data scientist / data engineer that is capable of designing and developing value-add data-driven applications. You will be designing and building highly-scalable and performant applications that will deliver functionality to our engineers to enable them to deliver the best quality.

What You’ll Do

Work with large, complex data sets. Solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems, applying advanced analytical methods as needed. Conduct analysis that includes data gathering and requirements specification, processing, analysis, ongoing deliverables, and presentations
Work with stakeholders to take a vague problem statement, refine the scope of the analysis, and use the results to drive informed decisions
Identifying opportunities, designing solutions and providing software tools that increase manufacturing quality
Build and prototype analysis pipelines iteratively to provide insights at scale
Operate and support your production applications

What You’ll Bring

High proficiency in Python, SQL
Strong foundation in statistics and machine learning
Experience building machine learning models that provided company value
Background in writing software in a professional environment, writing clean and tested code
Worked with DevOps and CICD (Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins,…)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Clearly documenting your work is key
Smart but humble, with a bias for action

Nice to have

Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science/ Engineering or equivalent.
Fullstack knowledge
Familiarity with tools such as Airflow, Elastic Search
Basic sysadmin capabilities
Practical knowledge of Hadoop, Spark and with streaming and stream processing frameworks such kafka, mqtt, faust, spark streaming etc.
