What You’ll Do
Production 2D-
- Creating high-quality concepts
- Designing characters, backgrounds, and environments for in-game assets and marketing
- Producing textures and sprites [for in-engine use for shaders and VFX]
- Driving projects from start to finish
- Problem-solving and providing solutions creatively
Production 3D-
- 3D modeling [hard-surface and organic] [requires producing high-res and optimised meshes for games]
- 3D texturing [using proprietary tools] [requires knowledge of basic texturing fundamentals and some knowledge of shaders]
- Basic Rigging, Skinning, and Basic Animation Skills
- Knowledge of game engines. Needs to have worked with game engines in some capacity (Unity Game Engine preferred)
- Basic game engine integration knowledge (can be trained further by in-house artists)
- Basic knowledge of creating VFX in-engine
- Matching and enhancing the art style of the game using proprietary tools and introducing new tools wherever possible
- Should have good soft skills and be able to work with other functions of the team
- Should be well-versed or have previous experience in game art pipelines
What You Bring
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates an understanding of art fundamentals
- Proficiency with digital painting
- Ability to create visual narratives and convey emotions through imagery
- Knowledge of art and visual design principles and techniques
- Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop
- A bachelor’s degree in fine arts, Design Graphics, Computer Science, or related field
Software knowledge:
- 2D software
- Photoshop (preferred)
- 3D Modeling software
- Blender | Maya | Zbrush (bonus) or any other equivalent | 3DS Max (alternate to blender)
- 3D Texturing software
- Substance Painter | Mudbox (bonus) | Substance Designer (bonus)
- Game Engine
- Unity (preferred) | Unreal (bonus)
