This role will be part of the network and infrastructure teams, and will work with both teams on operations and projects across the Nine group, ensuring high-uptime and delivering resilient, secure and high-performance solutions. The role will be involved with any network and infrastructure related projects in Melbourne, working closely with our stakeholders in TV and Radio Broadcast Engineering teams.
Operations: provide support for Nine’s network, connectivity, firewalls, compute, storage, virtualization and backup systems through effective monitoring of health and utilization, and by responding to incidents and requests. Adhere to Nine’s operational processes (eg change management). There may be a requirement to participate in an on-call roster.
Project delivery: work on a variety of projects with a key focus on Melbourne related projects. Ensure they are delivered on time, on budget, and ensure they meet business requirements.
Security: ensure that Nine’s security policies are enforced on both existing network and infrastructure solutions and any new initiatives you work on.
Essential qualifications, experience & skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
Technology: A solid understanding of network and/or infrastructure technologies and concepts
Good Communicator: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to listen and ask the right questions to resolve issues quickly or extract requirements
Motivated: Highly motivated to learn and develop additional network and infrastructure skills.
Time management skills: able to set priorities, pursue multiple threads at the same time, accurately reflect current state and drive towards desired state.
Desirable qualifications, experience & skills
Software development: Hands-on experience with software development and/or scripting & automation (Powershell and Ansible preferred)
Media/Technology Industry Experience: Previous experience within the media or technology industry is desirable.
Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet network solutions
Hands-on experience with ActiveDirectory, AzureAD, Windows/Linux, VMWare, Storage, SSO
