The HR Compensation and Benefit Specialist designs, implements, and administers compensation and benefits plans, programs, and projects. This includes health and welfare benefits, paid time off, insurance, retirement plans, base pay, incentive bonuses, executive compensation, and more. Responsibilities involve competitive analysis, costing, market analysis, job analysis, policy creation, auditing, budgeting, and vendor management. The role requires strong analytical skills, stakeholder management, and external communication. The specialist acts as an internal expert and represents the corporation externally.

  • Bachelor's degree in HR (Statistics, Finance, Accounting a plus)
  • 3+ years HR experience, 2+ years in compensation & benefits

Job Description

Responsible for the design, implementation, and/or administration of compensation and benefits plans, programs, and projects. Plan/program areas include but are not limited to the following: Health and welfare benefits, paid time off, insurance, mandatory benefits, retirement and capital accumulation plans, base pay, incentive bonus plans, executive compensation, profit sharing plans, and commission plans. Programs include but are not limited to the following: Open enrollment, stock participation plans, stock option plans, Focal review budgets and process. Responsibilities may include: Competitive analysis, costing and funding of plans, market analysis and recommendations, job family descriptions, job audits and analysis, job classification analysis and recommendations, establishing policies and guidelines, auditing practices against guidelines, stock and dollar budgeting, strategic scanning of the external environment, lobbying, external reporting, and vendor management. Individuals act as internal experts, consultants, analysts, and program managers and represent the corporation to external groups, agencies, and vendors. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgement.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or master's degree in human resources (Degree in Statistics, Finance, Accounting will be an added advantage) 3 + years of HR experience, specifically in: Compensation, Benefits, HR solutions, guidelines and policies, including 2+ years of compensation and benefits experience Ability to deal with ambiguity and change is a must. Strong stakeholder management, influencing and partnering skills. Fluent English-speaking ability The applicant must also have comfort with analyzing and processing data and drawing insights from the same.
