CAE seeks a Military Training Expert to provide aerospace technical, aviation, and operational expertise for a Training Systems Integration (TSI) program. Responsibilities include verification and validation of synthetic training devices, creating test procedures and scenarios, supporting engineering teams, ensuring design and regulatory requirements are met, supporting customer acceptance, working with marketing on bids and proposals, defect resolution, reporting test results, and participating in continuous improvement. Extensive Rotary Wing Military Aircrew experience is mandatory, with preference given to experience with complex military missions, tactical aircraft systems, flight instruction, maritime patrol, and combat experience. Strong technical skills, simulation exposure, training needs analysis, crew training, test & evaluation, and knowledge of armament are highly desirable.

About This Role

                                                                                                         

                                     

The chosen candidate will be responsible for providing military aerospace technical, aviation, and operational expertise to evaluate standalone and networked aerospace devices, as well as the interaction of groups of devices and systems included in a Training Systems Integration (TSI) program.

To meet all the TSI and Verification & Validation (V&V) needs of military programs, the candidate requires considerable experience as military aircrew, with a clear indication of expertise in various areas, aerospace systems specialists, and/or instructor.

The role we are offering you:

Carry out verification and validation for synthetic training devices:       

  • Prepare, plan, and execute V&V testing activities.
  • Create and maintain Training & Mission Test Procedures and associated scenarios and lesson plans.
  • Provide support to engineering (SW and HW) during all project phases by sharing his specific expertise.
  • Test simulators to ensure the design, customer, training, and regulatory requirements have been adequately met within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Support customer acceptance and device qualification by the respective governmental authorities.
  • Work with Marketing to provide input to potential customers (as required) and assist with estimates for Bids and Proposals.
  • Identify and actively participate in the resolution of defects as early as possible during the project execution.
  • Report test results and provide recommendations to project team to assess project risks.
  • Participate proactively in V&V continuous improvement.

The individual must have extensive experience as a Rotary Wing Military Aircrew.

Preference will be given to those with experience with:

  • Complex military mission and systems
  • Tactical aircraft systems (Radar, EO, EW/ESM)
  • Flight instruction
  • Maritime Patrol
  • Tactical/Combat experience

Strong technical background, prior exposure to simulation, experience with training needs analysis, crew training experience, Test & Evaluation experience, knowledge of armament, simulator qualification requirements, and associated aircrew training/testing/checking credits are desirable and will be used to assess the most suitable candidate.

  • Team player with persuasive communication and interpersonal skills and a high sense of integrity and professionalism are needed.
  • Computer literate and autonomous.
  • Availability to travel to various locations for on-site work.
  • The individual does not require a valid aircrew medical.
  • Bilingualism in both French and English is desirable.
