The Parks Retail Innovation Graphic Design Manager at Disney Consumer Products will play a critical role in designing and developing Bluesky retail opportunities (physical products and in-store experiences). Responsibilities include articulating product concepts through mood boards and presentations, using data to create compelling creative outputs, collaborating on innovation pipeline projects, driving business growth by identifying consumer trends, and tracking Disney-specific behaviors. This role requires strong design skills in graphics, physical product design, and data visualization, along with the ability to collaborate across teams.
Must have:
  • 3+ years retail product design experience

Good to have:
  • Extensive knowledge of Disney Parks/DSE consumer landscape

Job Summary:

This individual will play a critical role in bringing to life Bluesky retail opportunities (physical products and in-store experiences) based on the consumer landscape. This individual is a multi-talented designer, and expert at creating clearly articulated creative outputs (graphics, retail product mockups, branding, sketches, presentations, reports, renderings, etc.) designed for functional, organization-wide engagement. This role will partner closely with multiple teams, manage data and insights, and craft compelling creative offerings and recommendations based on research. In addition, this role will closely collaborate with the team in ideation, development and execution.

This role will report to the Senior Manager, Retail Innovation & Design.

This is a Full Time role.

What You Will Do:

  • Articulate/design bluesky product concepts and initiatives, through mood boards, pitch decks, strategic roadmaps, etc.

  • Bring data to life through dynamic, clearly articulated creative outputs (graphics,  presentations, reports, renderings, etc.) designed for functional, organization-wide engagement

  • Support the design and research of reports for team-generated online portal that houses comprehensive reports, synthesized insights, and inspiration built specifically for cross-category teams in Parks/DSE organization

  • Collaborate on the development and execution of the bluesky ideas as part of our innovation pipeline to inspire a new generation of consumer-centered products and experiences

  • Drive business relevance and growth by articulating disruptive consumer culture, lifestyle, and industry trends (both external and internal Disney) and retail-specific landscape trends (macro-level, product-level, and Disney-owned) into compelling design opportunities for retail across Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort, and Disney Signature Experiences (DSE)

  • Track and foster strategic signal spotting of Disney-specific behaviors, attitudes, and aesthetics that unlock fresh, own-able trends and opportunity spaces for parks/DSE retail

  • Maintain a constant pulse on cultural dynamics, trends, and opportunities

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • 3+ years proven retail product design experience

  • Portfolio Required

  • Diverse design skillset with competencies across graphics, physical product design

  • Proven analytical and innovation capabilities

  • Pulse on consumer culture

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of Disney Parks/DSE consumer and landscape

  • Experience presenting and collaborating with teams and leaders across The Walt Disney Company

  • Preferred systems knowledge: Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), 3-D Modeling Software, Rhino, Solidworks, SketchUp, Keynote, Powerpoint

  • Environmental Design and Themed Entertainment Design

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design or equivalent experience.
