Welcome to Find Your Fun, a Wizards of the Coast Studio. Find Your Fun crafts imaginative gameplay for kids, sparking delight and connection with beloved brands. We are a dedicated group of designers, creators, and business innovators. Come and build kids' games and apps with us!

The Principal Game Designer will be responsible for defining and driving the overall design vision for our mobile games aimed at young children. This person will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure our games balance creativity, exploration, and digital play while aligning with safe, child-friendly monetization strategies. Your leadership will guide the creation of experiences that spark imagination and support kids’ development.

This is an opportunity for an experienced designer to play an integral role in a small but ambitious studio, contributing directly to the success of our titles while laying the groundwork for future growth.

What You'll Do:

Design Vision & Leadership: Develop and own the design vision for new and existing live-service mobile games, ensuring they are fun, engaging and appropriate for children.

Creative Innovation: Drive the development of fresh, engaging content that captivates children, balancing fun with the curiosity to learn, and aligns with evolving trends in children’s digital entertainment and brand narratives.

Game Mechanics & Systems Design: Define and implement core game mechanics, systems, and features that drive engagement and retention.

Monetization: Collaborate with product management to ensure that the game’s design and monetization strategies are harmoniously integrated into gameplay loops, prioritizing parent-friendly payment models over aggressive in-app purchases or ads.

Player-Centric Design: Champion the needs of young players, ensuring the games are intuitive, frustration-free, and accessible, with clear gameplay mechanics that enable kids to explore, play, and create independently.

Content Updates & Engagement: Lead the design of content expansions and updates to maintain long-term engagement in subscription-based services, live events, and feature enhancements, ensuring the product remains fresh, exciting, and aligned with our vision of continuous creative and open-ended play.

Data-Driven Insights: Use player feedback, data analytics, and user testing to inform design decisions, optimize user engagement, and ensure the game is delivering value to both kids and parents.

What You'll Bring:

  • 7+ years of experience in game design, with at least 3 years in a senior design role for mobile games, ideally within live service environments.
  • Proven track record building and delivering engaging game mechanics and content that resonate with a young audience.
  • Experience working on games for children or family-friendly titles is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of live-service game design, including systems design, content delivery, and event-driven engagement models.
  • Ability to lead and encourage a creative team
  • Experience with data-driven game design and iteration, balancing creative vision with business objectives.
  • Collaborative mindset to work across disciplines (art, engineering, product management).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to clearly articulate design decisions to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Passion for crafting games that are fun, safe, and enriching for kids!

Come Join Us:

  • Play a key role in our studio’s growth, shaping its future as a first-party studio of digital gaming at Wizards of the Coast, ensuring creativity and fun are at the forefront of safe, child-friendly play experiences.
  • Work with a team passionate about delivering high-quality, imaginative content that resonates with our audience.
  • A collaborative and encouraging environment with opportunities to innovate and motivate change.
