Job Description

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.

Hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney, Australia but in Aotearoa, we have a hub in Auckland that we call home to our local operations. And with that, you have choice in how and where you work. That means if you want to do your thing at our Auckland hub (if you're nearby) or at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.

As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA — and this role is no exception. While the current focus is on helping shape how Canva drives value, communicates plan differentiation, and grows our self-serve business, the scope may evolve based on business needs and your strengths. And we like to think that’s all part of the fun.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

As a Principal PMM for Ecosystem, you’ll own the product marketing strategy for apps, integrations, and extensibility at Canva. This means working across three core pillars:

  1. Strategic Integrations: ensuring we’re building the right native integrations (AI platforms, Ad Tech, communication tools, etc.), launching them effectively, and driving adoption across core workflows.

  2. Developer & Platform PMM: owning positioning, messaging, and enablement for Canva’s developer platform — making it easy and compelling for builders to create on Canva.

  3. SI & Partner Go-to-Market: partnering with Strategic Integrations and Partnerships teams to support key system integrators and third-party partners in successfully launching and scaling their solutions.

You’ll lead strategy and execution across the entire product lifecycle — from identifying ecosystem opportunities, to informing roadmap decisions, to launching products, and driving ongoing adoption. You’ll also help define how we measure success, enable internal and external stakeholders, and tell the story of how Canva’s ecosystem creates value.

This is a highly strategic, cross-functional, and autonomous role — with the opportunity to help shape Canva’s evolution from product to platform.

What you’d be doing in this role

  • Lead the product marketing strategy for Canva’s ecosystem, covering integrations, apps, and the developer platform. Your work will drive adoption, partner success, and long-term platform growth.

  • Define and evolve a compelling narrative for Canva’s extensibility that is rooted in real customer and developer needs. Ensure it is clear, differentiated, and resonates across key audiences including partners, developers, and end users.

  • Establish a clear view of target audiences for the ecosystem strategy. Use these audience definitions to guide messaging, enablement, product direction, and go-to-market planning.

  • Drive go-to-market strategies and launches for high-impact integrations and platform capabilities in close collaboration with Product, Partnerships, and GTM teams across Canva.

  • Build and maintain strong feedback loops by gathering insights from users, developers, partners, and internal teams. Use these insights to inform strategy, shape the roadmap, and surface new opportunities.

  • Create differentiated messaging and positioning that reflects a deep understanding of the market and competitive landscape. Ensure this messaging is consistent across product, sales, and marketing channels.

  • Partner with Canva’s marketing teams to ensure ecosystem capabilities are integrated into broader campaigns and messaging wherever they enhance the story.

  • Support sales and success teams by providing high-quality enablement materials, including messaging frameworks, demo narratives, and competitor comparisons.

  • Contribute to pricing, packaging, and monetization strategy by bringing forward market insights and a strong understanding of customer and partner needs.

We’re looking for a strategic, senior PMM with a strong product mind, platform thinking, and experience bringing technical or ecosystem-based offerings to market. You’re comfortable in ambiguity, excited by zero-to-one problems, and passionate about creating value through extensibility.

You’re as confident shaping strategy as you are writing messaging. You understand how to influence without direct authority, and you know how to turn product complexity into clear, differentiated stories for users, partners, and internal teams alike.

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

  • Deep experience in product marketing for APIs, integrations, platforms, or ecosystems

  • Proven success launching technical products and driving adoption across multiple audiences (end users, developers, partners)

  • Strong strategic thinking and a clear, opinionated view on what good looks like for extensibility and platform growth

  • A background in SaaS, B2B, or platform companies — ideally in roles that spanned both product and go-to-market

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills

  • A collaborative, low-ego approach with a bias for action and outcomes

  • Familiarity with developer or technical partner audiences (developer PMM experience a strong plus)

  • Experience supporting partner co-marketing, integrations GTM, or developer enablement programs

  • Are comfortable working as an autonomous IC, leading laterally through influence and relationships rather than directly through reporting lines

About the team:
Canva’s mission is to empower the world to design, and our ecosystem is how we make that mission exponential. By integrating with the tools people use every day — from productivity platforms to publishing channels — and enabling third-party developers and partners to build within Canva, we can deliver more value, deepen engagement, and unlock entirely new growth loops.

We’ve made incredible progress scaling our app ecosystem and partner integrations. But to truly maximise this opportunity, we need to operate with the same level of insight, strategy, and go-to-market excellence that we bring to our core product.

That’s why we’re hiring a Principal PMM to run Ecosystem product marketing. This IC role will drive the strategy and execution across our highest-priority apps and integrations — making sure we build the right ones, land them powerfully in-market, and unlock growth through strategic partnerships and developer enablement.

This is an outcome-critical, multiplier role: it ensures Canva becomes not just a product, but a platform — woven into the workflows of teams, enterprises, and creators around the world.

Other stuff to know

We make hiring decisions based on your experience, skills and passion, as well as how you can enhance Canva and our culture. When you apply, please tell us the pronouns you use and any reasonable adjustments you may need during the interview process.

We celebrate all types of skills and backgrounds at Canva so even if you don’t feel like your skills quite match what’s listed above - we still want to hear from you!

Please note that interviews are conducted virtually.
